Bigas

Hi all happy new year,can anyone tell me if a Bigas sgis n only supports Bigas injectors and no others.If not what is the sucess rate of reconditioning the old ones.Thanks.

Happy new year to you too! I don't know if this product is any good or even if it would be suitable for your problem but it might be worth a go depending on the problem you have :

Also there are some Bigas injector repair kits listed here towards the bottom of the page - you may be able to refurbish/recondition them yourself :

Hopefully one of the more experienced SGi people will be along soon and either tell you i've got it completely wrong or that one or other is a better idea than the other. I don't know how feasible it is to recondition LPG injectors of any kind, however if repair kits are being sold to do it then i would think it's fairly successful.

The bump stop o rings on the bigas injectors do go. And they do recondition fine. But you need to take a measurement on the base of the nozzle and the body of the injector with a feeler gauge. That's the calibration mark as I remember.

I might personally never be fully confident that rebuilt/re-calibrated Bigas injectors would dose equally.
Reckon I'd just replace with some new injectors, from a shortlist of cheap injectors would go for OMVL's or V30's - Which would depend on the vehicle. V30''s with 4mm outlets have advantage of not needing to change piping or spuds and are a good match for metal bodied Bigas injectors response at smaller nozzle sizes, though would never be able to flow as much as Bigas with big nozzle sizes. OMVLs can almost match flow of Bigas with biggest nozzles and are a bit faster but have 6mm outlet.

Depending on age/spec of your V30's, max effective nozzle size might be 2.5mm (because of internal restriction). Not a problem if your Bigas injectors had 2.5mm or smaller nozzles, not applicable to all V30s.

Those v30's on my mates 2.0 litre forester finally wore out last week. 88k on the nail. Not bad considering the £18 a pair price tag. And the fact that he's flogged it from arse hole to breakfast time. Often towing a trailer or just dogging the hell out of it. I can't really fault them !

I fit them on some installs and don't have a problem with them, some have done over 100k! Far and away more reliable than the old version with green coil.
