Hi - I am new to this forum. My first LPG car has been a bit of a disaster so far but I reckon I will grow to like it. Its a 1987 Citroen CX GTI Turbo 2 that had an LPG conversion done in Poland in 2005. I bought the car from Ebay, and when collecting it it backfired and blew up the Turbo intercooler and air mass meter, leaving me stranded till 4 in the morning 200 miles from home. The RAC gave me a courtessy car and delivered my CX a few days later. After fixing the intercooler and tracking down a second hand air mass meter, I finally have it running, but oddly it will now only run on LPG. I did hear that backfiring risk can be minimised by reducing the spark plug gap slightly, which I have done, but I wouldn't have thought this would prevent the car from running at all on petrol... Lots more investigations to do I guess!
