x-type jaguar conversion

#1 Post by jollynomad » Tue Jan 13, 2009 11:47 am

Hi, I had my 3ltr. X-Type Jaguar Sport converted in Jan 2008. There were a lot of teething problems mostly causing the engine to momentarily cut out. These seem to have been ironed out but I am very dissapointed with the fuel consumption that I receive from the gas. I have tested the car on both fuels over a measured run of about 120 miles several times and receive 27m.p.g. from petrol but only 18-19 from the gas. This is a reduction of at least 30% which is much more than I was advised. Has anyone else out there got an X-type which has been converted? do people think that I should be getting a better result? has anyone got any advise on what I can do to improve the gas consumption

Mine is similar engine to yours, its ford v6 2.5, i get 27-32 on petrol and 22-30 on gas with a single point system, so you should be getting more than that. Try working it out over a couple of tanks compared to mileage, as the computers get a bit confused
