Electronic flahlube installed by Tubbs
Electronic flahlube installed by Tubbs
I visited Toby to have the flashlube fitted and the LPG filters changed yesterday.
A East Midlands BRC installer quoted me over £400 for the electronic valve saver and LPG service.
I contacted Toby who quoted around £250 to fit the same and change the LPG filters.
I travelled to Toby's workshop, about 75 miles from Derby. It was worth the trip just for the scenery once I got off the M5.
The new workshop is very nice and gives a good impression.
I found Toby to be very knowledgeable about LPG and answered any questions I had.
The flashlube instalation was done to a very high standard and instructions given in how to adjust the flow.
The LPG installation on my Subaru Outback was checked over for any leaks and the filters changed.
The job lasted about 2.5 hours and was well worth the £250 cost.
Toby knows his stuff and has my confidence in any work done on my car.

Honestly it was a pleasure Kevin. And you don't make a bad cup of tea either
Just like to point out that I fitted an electronic, multipoint flashlube system. Incase any one thinks it was a bit steep price wise. The bulk of the price was the bits, as ever in this game

To be fair, they may have different overheads, depending on where they are based...
But I know from experience how expensive BRC parts can be!

Sorry, wasn't implying you did it all out of a shed...just that I'm guessing stuff like unit rental will be higher in a town than out in the sticks! It could still be that they're complete rip off merchants
or maybe they're trying to make an honest living too?

It's alright mat no offence taken, anyway I am in a town now, tenbury wells !
The two BRC installs I have seen both on subaru's both seem to report the same kind of price, namely £2500 for a 4 cylinder car with a vac, single point flashlube installed.
Had another chap ring me up today who had been quoted £2500 for a volvo estate. Unfortunately he thought I was un nervingly cheap at £1175.

Call that a town? I just looked it up to see where you were now and Google tells me it has a population of 3,300. It also tells me that the village where I live has a population of 10,400. So how come somewhere a third of the size of my village is a town?Tubbs wrote:I am in a town now, tenbury wells !

Re: Electronic flahlube installed by Tubbs
Ha! We used to go to Tenbury Wells for a night out when my then girlfriend (now wife) lived in Shropshire. Bit of a trek from Newcastle on Clun, but several of her friends used to live there so I'd be the designated driver on a Saturday night (and that's after driving 170 miles to visit her for the weekend...)

That's a town in Shropshire Richard
the 'shire' doesn't have a city at all. Just Shrewsbury.
Tenbury is a funny old place, everyone from ludlow seems to go out drinking there. Prolly because the pubs stay open later. My unit is still in shropshire. But has a Worcestershire post code.
