Shell Citi Card - Beware

#1 Post by Active_Lad » Sun Oct 05, 2008 9:35 pm

I was considering signing up for one of these because of the cash back offer on Shell Fuels and they are also doing some form of link with the Shell Drivers Card.

However, BEWARE of the small print, which states that in order for the cashback to kick in, you must buy fuel that costs more than £1 per litre, so it's useless for AutoGas. And since the APR's not competitive, it's useless for anything else either.

And petrol is now back below a £1, so unless you run on diesel or that stupidly expensive petrol there isn't much point. I bet they don't make a big thing of pointing out the small print

They are still advertising this offer even though it's not technically possible to take advantage of the 3% cashback because of the fall in fuel prices. So, I've sent in a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.
