BRC ECU failure

#1 Post by xmas6 » Sun Dec 02, 2018 11:34 am

Hi All
The BRC Sequent 32 system on my daughters 2007 civic started to play up - missing on various cylinders according to the car ECU.
I was unable to find any simple problems so I took the car to Martin Motors In Cumbernauld for a diagnostic check.
Sadly Dougie passed away a few months ago but his son linked up his diagnostics to the system but the BRC ECU would not “communicate” with his computer.
We reckoned the lpg ECU had failed.
So can anyone help -
Can the ECU be repaired? I think this is improbable as the box is fully potted.
Can anyone supply a new or used ECU?
Are there any other options for me?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Cheers Neil

Assuming the ECU is broken (having used correct software and lead, checked fuses and wiring etc) TinleyTech can sell you one, but it'll need calibrating after fitting.

It is very unusual for an ECU to still be capable of running the car on LPG (even with misfires etc) if it cannot communicate with the laptop.
