Toyota land cruiser lpg problem
Hi ive got a land cruiser colarado 3.4 v6 running the sequential Prinz system. Its been on a few years and had no problems with it but recently when it switches over to gas when cold its running rough for a few minutes then ok but now even when the engine is hot when I put my foot down to go up hill it starts running rough and switches back to petrol. Ive changed the filters and checked the spark plugs to no avail

Re: Toyota land cruiser lpg problem
Its sorted now quick run up to Simon and he has found the main problem it was a broken wire in the loom, I would never have found it. He is a top bloke and knows his stuff, I highly recommend him

Re: Toyota land cruiser lpg problem
Cheers mate!
Problem was initially suspected to be the Prins injector emulator which was found to be hidden behind the dash but quickly ascertained the fault was with the Prins ECU detecting a disconnected Keihin injector. Since swapping injector plugs around didn't see the fault move output channels the fault could either have been within the Prins ECU, emulator or loom. Another Prins ECU was temporarily swapped in to see if the fault remained and it did, and at this stage of diagnostics it could only be the loom. Stripping back loom wires found no.5 LPG injector was connected by a thread of wire which pulled apart during unravelling wiring.
I also corrected LPG calibration, it was too lean at idle, and fixed a leak (that the ECU had even detected) while it was here.
Interestingly the Prins emulator had been replaced with a Pitagora behind the dash. I had tried another Pitagora during diagnostics which ruled out the emulator.
