Volvo Upgrades For 2006

#1 Post by admin » Tue May 10, 2005 10:39 am

Volvo has been selling bi-fuel versions of the S60 and V70 ranges for some time now, the fuel combination involved being either petrol/LPG or petrol/CNG. Now the company is stressing the environmental benefits of CNG over LPG, but the bottom line is that it simply isn't selling enough LPG cars - the total for the whole of 2004 was just 82 cars, and for the first quarter of this year only 20 were shifted. That just isn't economic, so Volvo is abandoning the LPG idea and concentrating on CNG for its bi-fuel range.

Full Story : http://www.carkeys.co.uk/features/produ ... 045.asp

I don't know about Volvo but I tried to order a new dualfuel Corsa back in August last year. Vauxhall online took my order only for it to be cancelled due to the introduction of a new engine. Car was finally ordered 23/12/04 after getting grant approval. Car has still not arrived at dealership and grant expired at the end of March this year. Possibly this is why Vauxhall don't sell as many because they cannot supply a car with options within a reasonable timeframe.

Are LPG cars more expensive than standard ones. Also not looked into them much myself, are they dual fuel or total LPG.

Rgds

Damian
