LPG PRICE HIKE BY MAJOR STORE.

#1 Post by MOPAR-MANIAC-UK » Sun Mar 11, 2012 5:32 pm

I have just discovered that my local MORRISONS store has upped the price of LPG by a whopping 5 pence per ltr. That is 7% which is well over inflation. That takes it to 74.9p. What do they know about the forthcomming bugdet that we don,t??
In Corby you can still get LPG for 65.9 p and even closer to me 71.9 p.
They have lost our custom and that includes the big weekly shop as Asda and Tesco is closer.
I hope a few others let them know what they think. I did.
Cheers all. Chris.
May the sun forever cast its shadow in your nose.

67.9 Sainsbury's at Beckton (A13 @ A406 junction) yesterday :)
81.9 BP A12 @ Upminster :/
The BP garange is my nearest but at 67.9 it was most definitely worth the trip to Beckton.

The World market price for lpg has shot up this month due to high demand from intercontinental cold snap - it is expected to drop just as quickly next month - here's hoping.

Also the Japanese have just closed their last nuclear reactor - and they were using nuclear for 30% of their power generation. Some of the replacement capacity runs on LPG...
I've no idea if that is enough to affect the price but it can't help :(

My local is ASDA and they are 67.7 per litre.

It's shocking as I've a few LPG cars now and when I started it was 45.9 a litre, all the closest stations were around the 60p mark, so ASDA got wise and increased their prices over a couple of weeks - it literally rose day by day.....

But like others have said, it's still cheaper.

I get roughly 100 miles to £10.

Cheers

Rob

paid 67.9p litre at Dover South Service Station on 14th July which is cheaper than Essex s/s prices and possibly cheaper than "early arrivals" - its just as you enter Dover on the second roundabout.
