I've had the reducer on the bench this afternoon and jury rigged a coolant loop - not a drop is leaking so it may be the root problem is a gas pressure leak as Brian suggested.

Thanks again Brian, I will bench test it as I hadn't thought of that, but it certainly looked like it was leaking from the connectors. Will check and report back.

Thanks for the input so far, I wasn't suggesting I necessarily wanted OVML for the new car, just that's what has been fitted to my cars previously by a one make installer.
