Re: Jaguar xf 3l petrol conversion
Very grateful for the replies, it ties in with the limited amount of research I've been able to do so far.
The jag is an 08 xf. I have two brc reducers, one needs a diaphragm but maybe the answer to that issue.
I had consigned to having a fuel return, but does it need a solenoid, i was thinking the ...

Re: Jaguar xf 3l petrol conversion
Can anyone please suggest a vaporiser up to supplying a 248bhp (on petrol) v6? Preferably one compatible with the BRC sequent ecu I have. Are Tinley tech likely to know?
Perhaps I should post this in the "having problems" section.

Re: Jaguar xf 3l petrol conversion
Hmmm, found info on petrol return - yes it is needed. Genius 1500 vaporiser apparently only good for 188bhp:( so I need a bigger vaporiser.
Can't find much on wet pipe diameters vs power.

Jaguar xf 3l petrol conversion
So after 6 years on my zt 190 I will be removing the kit and fitting it on the Ford engined xf. Obvious questions are around the size of the BRC bits - orange injectors were replaced 6 months ago to try and solve a cold starting problem, as was the diaphragm in the vaporiser. I also have a new ...

Re: MGZT v6 conversion, question for the experts
Simon, thanks for that in-depth explanation, I never got around to measuring the pressure or connecting to the ecu. I bought a 2008 jag xf!
So i have loads of questions on converting this, which I'll start a new thread for.

Re: MGZT v6 conversion, question for the experts
Tried fitting the new vaporiser on Sunday - I'd forgotten how much of a pig it was to fit. The water and lpg pipes were too short to allow me to get at them. I unbolted the lpg solenoid, but because the kit came with poly pipe and crimp fittings it was impossible to remove without making a new one ...

Re: MGZT v6 conversion, question for the experts
Thanks @Gilbertd, why didn't I think of that. New vaporiser ordered, I'll have the old one apart to check. If it's rebuildable maybe get a new diaphragm for it.

Re: MGZT v6 conversion, question for the experts
Six year update. Car has covered 170k! But I now have an issue to sort. The cold start on petrol is a problem, it cranks and cranks, maybe 20 seconds before firing. This issue started intermittently, so took me a while to check anything. First check was petrol pump pressure - no issues, everything ...

Six years and 130k miles mgzt
Hello all, it's been a while. In 2013 I fitted a brc sequent system to a newly purchased 40k miles mgzt. Now it's done 170k :)
The system wasn't fitted with flashlube, I put a torroid tank in the boot, solenoid on the lower front bulkhead (you can sometimes feel the click under your right foot ...

Re: MGZT v6 conversion, question for the experts
Update on this conversion two and a bit years later.
The conversion wasnt easy, fitted a new brc kit, with vaporiser just next to the vis motor on the inlet manifold, the filter and solenoid directly below it, in the line for all kinds of @!## from the road, but its been fine so far.

Soldered joints
Had my daughters mgzt 1.8 in last week to do some jobs on.
After starting and running on petrol, the changeover brought a continious "beeeeeep" from the sounder.
I hooked my laptop up - gas temperature sensor fault.
So a simple wiring check found the loom had been soldered to the sensor wires, very ...

Re: Stiff (hard to pull out) Filler Dust Cap
Do you still have the plastic wire hanger that hols the cap? If so, it's likely the wire is getting trapped either inside the bayonet, or on the side of the cap, seen both.
Let us know?

How is your tune, is the mixture near enough for the petrol ecu to correct?
A petrol system uses lambda to correct to either side of stoics. This is catalytic converter technology requirement - weak rich weak rich. For non cat engines, you could run constant stoics, or just weak of this, thou saving ...

Re: Aeb auto tune just going rich
Oohkay, so the pressure varies, but will be constant wrt manifold pressure. So the aeb display reads relative to this pressure?
So as I open the throttle, the manifold pressure display shows an increase, but the gas pressure shouldn't change at all?
I seem to recall it does move around, not sure ...

Re: Aeb auto tune just going rich
If the reducer is referenced to the manifold (I'll check, but would expect it is), then how can ithe pressure be constant, it will vary according to vacuum and boost surely? The gas system map sensor should be teed in to this signal, also need to check if this is the right one for boost applications ...
