Review of my first 100k miles on LPG

So the car has reached 130k miles a couple of days ago. I bought it when it had 30k miles and converted to LPG almost immediately with King ECU, MagicJet and OVML Evap. Its a Peugeot 207 with the infamous Prince 1.6 engine (the vti model). In all these years I had only two failures: the evaporator c...

Re: king new software

Hi Brian, already did the compression test and its "as new" 10.8 bar on every cylinder with the car cold.. the problem with this engine (and with all the BMW 4 cylinders) is that the timing chain is put just below the pcv intake, the chain sprays quite a bit of oil while working, the oil gets sucked...

Re: king new software

ok that's far too technical for me at 126k miles i think i am not too fussed about vsr, expecially since the fantastic prince engine uses a fair amount of oil. I use around 1L every 1500 miles, until around 100k it was using about 1L/3500 miles which was much better, then suddenly it started to use ...

Re: king new software

Thanks Brian
I'm just playing with the new software not really trying to change anything. Was curious about these new options

king new software

Does anybody know what does the split fuel do in the new software?
there is a bar filled with gas pressures from 1.1 to 1.8 bar, each one associated to a %
if I fill the 1.1 bar pressure with 5%, does it means the system will add 5% petrol?
and what is the "injector heating" option?
any ideas?

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Ok I managed to fix everything by cleaning with abrasive paper the inside of the plunger housing.
I also installed a bigger coil, tank model, that works perfectly.
And since I was at it, I changed the seals and the membrane of the vaporiser.
Now its running good!

I will see how it goes if its too troublesome to keep as it is will get a new vaporiser and ask simon if he could help in changing it..

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Thanks Simon, I had a word with Tinley and they confirmed that the coil I have is the correct one. Also the voltage and resistance I measure are correct. Recommended to clean the pipe where the plunger sits and see how it goes. I will put a couple of rectifier diodes and drop the voltage to the coil...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

this is my vaporizer http://tinleytech.co.uk/shop/lpg-parts/omvl-cpr-reducervaporiser-with-integral-shut-off-valve/ the polypipe goes to the 90 deg brass connector near the vapour outlet. the black coil failed some time ago, I ordered a new valtek coil (blue this time), but it seems it was defective...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Polypipe is solid, it's a very hard plastic and not rubbery at all. The liquid line needs to be capable of withstanding over 10 bar pressure so rubber pipe would just blow up like a balloon. The connections you will have on the vaporiser are a pair of coolant hoses which will be 15/16mm inside diam...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Thanks
I connected the coil and after barely 10 minutes is so hot that if you touch it sticks to your hand...
Voltage is 13.2V, not sure its the correct one as the coil says 12V but is not far off...

I guess is polypipe then as it doesn't seem to have a solid core.

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

I changed all seals in the injectors with a kit some time ago. i am not completely sure the injectors leak, but something is certainly doing as i've troubles starting in the morning. This has started after removing the shutoff of my vaporiser. I have an OMVL valtek vaporiser, the one with the plasti...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Hi Brian the injectors are clean. I did a full disassemble a couple of weekends ago and they were spotless (I did change the cylinders inside with a remanuf kit some time ago). They have a lot of mileage (around 100k) but I couldn't find anything visibly wrong. I bought a new valtek solenoid (blue c...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

ok, the problem is this: the injectors do not leak when cold, but do leak very little when hot.
I was wondering if I could install a coil shutoff valve on the vapour tube, will it work?
and if yes, what should I buy?

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

not sure what was the problem with the coil, however it works without the plunger and i'd rather not remove it again as the vaporiser is an impossible place. I tested the coil not attached to the vaporiser. 5 minutes and it was boiling to the touch. I tested the injectors for leaks with usual soapy ...

Re: Odd really odd switching problem

Hi all I did manage to get to the vaporiser, for that I had to remove the airbox, the battery, the ECU and the battery tray as it was bolted on the back of the battery tray. The plunger cover was quite stuck but I managed to remove it. The plunger was pretty clean, sure was dark and dirty but nothin...
