You can buy straight propane from Supagas, usually cheaper than the servos too.

IIRC LPG is a 80/20 mixture here.

Nemesis - i ran into similar issues with my supercharged v6 commodore a couple of years back. My problem ended up being a combination of poor tuning and injectors that couldn't flow enough gas. Basically once the engines rpms hit ~4000rpm the injection times went thru the roof and the gas injectors ...

My previous car had a Supercharged V6 making ~330bhp and it ran on gas quite well.... untill 4000rpm then it had to flick back to petrol as the gas injectors couldn't flow enough.

Theres a 700bhp Supercharged 6.2Ltr V8 down here in oz running the Icom Liquid Gas Injection system.

sorry no turbos here..... just a 400hp 5.7Ltr V8 on an Icom JTG Liquid Injection system.

Icom have a Liquid Injection system out. Theres a bloody 3-4 month backlog here in oz for it as every man and his dog with a V8 wants it! (literally).

IIRC one of the test cars with a 4.0Ltr Turbo V6 made 21kw more than petrol with the Liquid Injection without a retune.

Here in oz all vehicles running LPG are required to have a little diamond badge/sticker on the number plate saying LPG. Is this not a requirement over there?

Question - Is the "injection time for running on petrol" in reference to when the system will switch back to petrol when the gas injection times hit that?

A VY Commodore is a Holden, basically a monaro with 4 doors. He SHOULD be getting roughly 400-500kms from a tank city driving and 700+ on the highway.

If the sensor is faulty, pouring water on it seems to allow the car to start normally, at least this is the case in oz for cars with hard starting issues.

Even better would be to take the car in and get the diagnostic codes pulled from the ecu.

Knowing what sort of car would be a great help.

Is the starting issue only when the engine is warm? If so try pouring some water over the CAS (crank angle sensor), when they play up, the car wont start/ have difficulty starting.

Define cronic problems?

Mines had a few annoying faults but this has all turned out to be the installer not tuning it properly.

rossko, thats pretty much it, the gas system cant keep up with the engines thirsty fuel demands. Even if i have the system set to gas at high rpm, without the data cable connected it misfires at around 4500rpm onwards, with the cable connected it flicks itself back to petrol untill the revs drop ...

my car has a similar quirk with its DREAM XXI system. It'll only change from gas to back petrol at 4000rpm (like its ment to) when the cable is connected to the gas ecu..... disconected it just misfires.
