Re: Mazda 6 and BRC setup problems (I think)
Ok... whereabouts are you? Maybe I could take a drive over to you (if you're not too far away) and have a look at it.

Re: Mazda 6 and BRC setup problems (I think)
So what would be my course of action here? Its definitely running on gas and petrol. The trip computer in the car is telling me that the eange on the petrol I have in the tank is being used constantly, the gauge is going down slowly, all whilst its also running on LPG.
Is there anything I can do ...

Re: Mazda 6 and BRC setup problems (I think)
The engine doesn't stop dead as you would expect.. it sort of slowly dies, giving me the impression that there is gas but not enough to keep it running without the help of petrol. That said, its using about 30 litres of LPG to 200 miles (approx).

Re: Mazda 6 and BRC setup problems (I think)
Thanks for the detailed response Simon.
A few things to mention:
If I unplug all injectors the car stalls... but with just 1 injector plugged it still runs, allbeit lumpy.
With the bonnet open and on tickover I can hear the distinct ticking/tappety noise from the LPG injectors when Iswitch the ...

Mazda 6 and BRC setup problems (I think)
I'm new to LPG therefore my question may seem a bit stupid ao please bear with me.
I am a vehicle technician by trade but have never owned or had anything to do with an LPG system (Porsche owners don't tend to opt for LPG!)

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Gilbertd - thanks for the insight.
The actual fitting of the kit, making brackets etc etc isn't an issue. I have a toolbox full of tools as I'm a VW technician.
This may be my best option as I need to do it as cheap as possible but using a quality kit, not the cheap rubbish.

With sales pitches like that you must be booked up for the next 12 months!

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
[quote="Gilbertd"]It depends on how you look at the costs. If you add the cost of the conversion to the purchase price of the car then you are into a saving on fuel costs, and hence monthly outlay immediately. This may seem an odd way of looking at it but you'll probably find that you can buy a big ...

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Which begs the ultimate question.... is it worth me doing mine? I spent roughly £30-35 per week in my diesel doing an average 42mpg and covering a maximum of 200 miles per week. Now I'm in my Saab doing roughly 25-28mpg

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Yes, thats right
Out of interest, what would be the cost of a conversion on a volvo v70 2.4 170bhp? It's my neighbours car. We were talking about my car and lpg when he said he was considering lpg hmself but he's not sure whether it would be beneficial to him as he only uses 1 tankful per month

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Keep your hair on (if you have any left)!
I merely asked if it would be a good option! Clearly, from your reaction, not!
I only wanted to fit a kit myself to save money but its turning out to cost as much to buy the parts individually as it is to get one fitted, badly or not!

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Ok.
Thanks for that... only experience can give that kind of advice.
Is it worth me continuing to look on ebay?
If not, where can I get e decent kit at lowest price as I'm on a budget.
Thanks again

Re: LPG kits - Which one?
Ok, I now understand a fair bit more about lpg systems than I did before posting on this forum.
Are the front end kits on ebay any good? They seem quite cheap at around £200.
