Re: Wow! Too good to be True? Convert from Carbs with No Mix

I like the look of this Epoka kit stuff, the only alternative to Epoka seems to be a closed loop mixer system with a BLOS thrown on the end. Although I now understand there is a BLOS which includes a stepper, which I assume gets it's info via an O2. With either approach, I still need an O2. If I'm g...

Wow! Too good to be True? Convert from Carbs with No Mixer?

I've an old 4 cyl 1960s Land-rover running a simple as it gets Mixer system with a power-valve. No Lambda, nothing. Now has an electronic dizzy, but , in terms of sophistication, that's about it. As part of a rebuild I'm reckoning on fitting what looks like the perfect solution. Give it an o2 and Ep...

Re: CNG to LPG conversion costs?

It's not really an option in this country unless you're one of the big boys, and even Tesco seem to have dropped it. They cite the provision and maintenance of their own infrastructure as too costly. They're right! My set-up was not cheap. For public access, you can fill in Daventry and Crewe, and t...

Re: Bulk tank for home heating AND autogas

Been there, done that I'm afraid. Heating a house off grid via LPG is very expensive, simply because there's really only two suppliers, Flogas & Calor and they've got you by the... You'd think a tank would see returns via the back-route, - low-price LPG for motor use. Only when you do the numbers......

Re: CNG to LPG conversion costs?

Sorry to double-post, just spotted this thread. I'm after the cylinders from an ex-Tesco van. Did any of you decommission these? The OP says there was one lurking in Angelsey. That's Dai's home-turf. I wonder if he saw any?

Did any of you decommission Tescos's Iveco Daily CNG fleet?

I'm after the cylinders from these vehicles, most would be converted to LPG by now I suspect, maybe you did one. Unless you've 'weighed' them in by now, cylinders please, cash is waiting.

Don't come on here too often, but PM me, I'm sure I'll get the news.

Re: What's this then?

Later version has a different case, so wouldn't swear, not seen any early one for years, but it looks not unlike an early 'AEB Joker' advance box, but you reckon this retards the ignition?

Re: Do Normally Open 12V Petrol Shut-off Solenoid Valves Exi

A mahoosive thead revival but I hate to see threads peter-out with no conclusion despite the help of so many. I put a timer-relay in so that the pump relay was cut 15 odd secs after going over to gas. Works fairly well, but the pressure in the fuel rail means I really needed to vent the pressure, el...

Swap to CNG from LPG - apart from Tanks & Reg is it simple?

I run LPG on my 60s classic and now want to convert to CNG. I realise these fuels are two very different animals at the regulator and tanks, but will the front end still be OK? At present I've a single point mixer open loop system that works well enough for LPG. I think, most LPG systems are CNG com...

Re: CNG filler Nozzle and breakaway coupling (Note: Not LPG

Don't come on here too often. Got my bits used Yankside via eBay in the finish. New bits liek this are stupid money. £700+. CNG is vastly cheaper, but you need to be doing proper miles to get a return. You've a pump to buy that'll cost you the price of a decent used car to be factored in. Normal own...

CNG filler Nozzle and breakaway coupling (Note: Not LPG)

CNG filler Nozzle and breakaway coupling and / or non-return valves etc etc wanted. Not interested in the LPG equiv. I collect CNG stuff so if you have fitting, hoses, and in this case nozzles let me know. Cylinders too. Not to be confused with LPG. If you see thsi post even in 6-7 months form when ...

Wanted CNG Cylinder Tanks please (Note CNG not LPG)

Anyone have some in date CNG cylinders knocking about? No I don't mean the aerosol cans you all use for LPG, CNG runs a 'proper' pressure. 200-250Bar. You'll know if you have a CNG cylinder, it'll look more like a welding-cylinder and be at least as heavy. If you tried even 100Bar in your LPG tank y...

Re: How Do i Clean Gas Injectors - Is there a Fluid?

Sorry I should have said, as Classicswede knows from my previous threads, I run a Volvo Bifuell, a factory fit Necam/Koltec distributor system. At the moment beuase the stepper motor in this system is a £320.00 Volvo only item and very, very fragile, I look after it by firing injector cleaner in my ...

How Do i Clean Gas Injectors - Is there a Fluid?

I've recently been converted to the wonders of little bottles of injector cleaner fired into my petrol tank. I had a leaky petrol injector rail (see my other thread) and along with a small mod the stuff sorted out my petrol injector woes. It set me thinking, I've got filters in-line to catch most of...

Re: LNG as motor fuel?

My car when i fill up with GasRec (Daventry) uses not cow-dung but gas from their Land-fill site. They pump it into the national grid as well, so it could be argued you've used it too when you turned your home's temperature stat up a notch.

Mine's a factory fit gas car. Rossko, you're likley right anotehr rail might be fine, and I have to agree with Dai, re the injector cleaner. I am always sceptical of mechanic-in-bottle snakeoil products but I put in some Lucas Cleaner(USA Lucas not Prince of Darkness Lucas) and it definitely reduced...

Re: Do Normally Open 12V Petrol Shut-off Solenoid Valves Exi

Gilbert, Dai, thanks for that, (Dai) I'll put my findings on that 'other' site when I'm done. Yes as I see it I've one or perhaps two injector persisting petrol in their bores, the Lambda will correct for it, but globally so that won't help, some will be lean whilst others are dripping petrol. A use...
