After i wrote my last post i got an email in from TT, so besides the extra expense there may be space issues with the impco getting it to fit ...

how big a tank can you get, its a G30 which a 1 ton van so every thing is alreasy beefed up on it, shoudl be ok?

I keep a few tanks in stock. Were you going for the tank under the rear seat/bed if so I keep that exact size tank in stock. Most parts are obtainable with little notice

Few of us keep much stock, certainly not of wierd and wonderful tank sizes. You'll be wanting to specify equipment beforehand. Catch-22, you need to be familiar with hows and whys to specify the correct kit and sizes...

Tubbs's option sounds the best to me. I wouldn't risk trying to use a secondhand kit taken from another vehicle. To start with you don't know if it really is suitable, chances are you'll break something taking it off and it may be on it's last legs anyway.

so based on the new info i have a 110l tank giving 88l running my 5.7l V8 which was 13mpg on petrol so at 11mpg on gas will give me a range of

88l = 19.35g @ 11mpg = 212.85 miles

all approximations granted.

Or, to put it another way, if your mpg on gas is 20% poorer, to get the same sort of range as you do on petrol the usable capacity of the LPG tank needs to be 20% more. Which is often not practical to do, especially if the original petrol tank is retained. Some vehicles lend themselves better than ...

Dead easy really to do that, from an empty tank, fill it up, make a note of how many litres you put in, reset the trip, drive it till its empty, see how many miles you done, then for example you filled with 60L and drove 200 miles ...

60 / 4.55 = 13.19
200 / 13.19 = 15.16 mpg
