my dub is on webers!!! i have had it rolling roaded so it starts drives well, at moment its off the road but i have a recovery truck so could put on the back & drive to whereever you are mr swede!

i have a gunsons gas analyser, how accurate it is i dont know! but can bring it with me, be great to ...

hey classicswede, i see you are familer with aircooled dubs, have a look what i have done on my dub so far, once the weather improves would you be willing to help me set it up & get it running?

how do i'm back, a bit of life got in the way of my lpg conversion, i have it all wired up, & i had it ticking over on lpg (still have a full tank of lpg) i lost my job so my vw has been on the backburner :cry:

my gas definately is'nt turning off, as i say i'll double treble check it all again tomorrow but nearly 100% its not shutting off, to be fair i'm mulling going out now for 5 mins as curiosity is getting the btter of me LOL

any mor tips guys let ...

oh yeah my switch is a VIP MINIVIP1-I 0-90 Ohm

i have also remebered the yellow lpg light is going out during engine cranking when the rpm/pulse signal is wrapped around the king/HT lead
i can also hear the priming happen, solinoid turns off & when i crank the engine i hear no solinoid come back on ...

right i hould have been clearer on how i have wired my changeover switch so here we go :)

switched ign live is from the + side of the ignition coil with an inlin 4amp fuse
negative is just to the body but i can put it to the battery negative or the ...

right chaps, i'm having issues, i have wired my fuel pump & alls good with the petrol side

i'm having issues with the pulse wire (brown)

when its connected to the negative side of the coil, running on gas, if the motor cuts out the gas still coms through

when i have the pulse wire wound around ...

i have been playing about again this afternoon, fitted my new low pressure ie: 4.5psi max for my carburetter engine

my question is can i use the yellow poer wire that turns the fuel switch on to power my fuel pump, i would put it ...

right i'll give that a go tubbs thankyou again bud, i take it i strip the casing off the brown pulse wire, wrap it in a quality fashion, then use insulating tap ove the top to protect it from spurious signals

do you think i'm doing ok so far bud! as i say i dont plan to leave the wiring in the ...

the lpg cut off solinoid,its ok the wiring wont be staying like this, i have jusked it all up to get it working, then i'll tidy everything so its all neat 'n' sweet

right i have been having a fiddle with the pulse wire, i cant get it to work correctly, when i hook up my old rev counter to the negative of the coil (puls signal) the rv counter works fine, & if i make the engine cut out the rev counter obviously looses that signal so does'nt see rpms anymore

chaps i have been doing some reading & apparntly k&n style free flow filters are not the greatest for an engine running lpg is this correct???

just trying to get a 30mins gap in the rain to fit my electric fuel pump to get fiddling with the van again cor blimey this is dire the weather this year ...

woohoo, got it working, i have took the rev sence from the - on the ignition coil tubbs, what concerns me now is when the engine cuts out its still flowing gas? as obviously position 1 on my ignition is the switched live, but this is still live when the engine cuts out so the gas still flows

I CANT GET IT TO START OR IDLE AT ALL HELP, I have checked the solinoids etc etc any ideas, its tried to fire a few times but only when i hold the throttle slightly open????

just done a little reading & the red light apparently is the lpg fuel reserve light which is apparently normal to see, :oops:

so my mind is eased..........i'm ready to do some testing of my unions, pipe up the low pressure pipes from the vaporizer/reducer, check i am getting lpg gas coming through ...

good progress today chaps, i have al lthe electrics routed & hooked up in a temprary manner for testing purposes

i have the switch & level gauge on the dash all lighting up woohoo it looks very modern in my old van!

right figured out my iing & now i'm rained off as i'm working on my van outside :| this bloody weather at this time of year i mean FFS

just a small update bit more done today, had to do some cutting & chopping of my air filter baseplates on my carbs :O/

had a bit of a nightmare, i manged to drop a nut down each bloody carburetter throat/venturi, thankfully in a sence befor the throuttle butterfly, managed to fish them out after ...

i think this may be somthing i'll be ordering to make the setup a little easier & a more efficiant setup overall, is this thing compatible with a twin carburetter setup, i'll be updating how i'm getting on in a bit with some pics of where i'm at now, not far to go untill startup i think
