ran one for 7 years [ 2.0 ] with no problems at all , nice DIY project , simple cheap open loop type
always full loaded so did about 18mpg , not a lot but didn't do a lot on petrol either , so worthwhile if you intend to keep it running !

I used a vapouriser with a bottom feed , so maintenance free ...

it is illegal in france to sell gpl at an unattended pump , so only at open stations , no card purchases

btw , if you see a leclerc supermarket selling gpl , there will not be cheaper locally

get your own italian cup before you go , somewhere like tinley tech sell by correspondance , as someone said make sure you get the correct thread

yes , many garages have adaptors , but unfortunately people drive off with them

and hypermarkets are generally 10-12% cheaper than garages , if you see ...

just to add that now spain is allowing the installation of lpg pumps in out of town service stations [ instead of the previous specialist outlets ] , the new pumps seem to be all fitted with the new euronozzle and don't have adaptors to lend

looks like all the pumps in spain are being changed to the new euronozzle , big problems for people who haven't got an adaptor because they are not for sale anywhere in spain yet , and most of the stations don't have one to lend them

they are for sale on ebay germany , at a price!

the favoured name looks to be euronozzle , which makes sense to me , not been used before so no confusion

motorway lpg prices are usually about 10c/litre more than supermarkets , normal garages half way between

to meet the regulations the gas loss must be less than 0.1 ml when you disconnect , not enough to be visible if you look at the video clip

installation has already begun some 18 months ago in spain and poland , perhaps elsewhere

swifty probably means you have a swift motorhome ; presuming you can get in a sensible sized bottle , don't bother !
in france you can get most bottles free , just pay for the gas , so leave the uk with just one bottle and space for another when you get there

talked to the tanker driver filling my neighbours domestic propane tank here in france and he informed me that his next port of call was the local garage to fill their lpg tank !
he said that the contents of his tank came from the bulk ...

after years of experimenting ~i found the solution for me...even the cheapest plugs will last 6K .. so buy them and change at that interval ..takes me about 15 minutes

frankly I found that with even the best plugs you can get the odd failure at low mileage , and it causes a lot of hastle ...if you ...

I think I have wasted a fortune on fancy plugs over the last 25 years

one things all plugs seem to have in common is that they degrade after a few thousand miles on lpg , pprobably on petrol as well but to a less noticeable amount

if the previous customer has paid before you pressed the button it will zero immediately

just had a glance at euro prices ......the precipitous fall in the value of sterling has changed the uk picture completely in so far as the price in euro's is concerned

but I note that the fix is still in in france ..... €0.70 /litre [ cheapest anywhere 63 cents ]

sad 199 , you won't be far wrong , presuming you have a fairly recent boiler , if you say that lpg is 80% efficent , giving you an actual price per KwH of something like 9p KwH heat in the house

your storage heaters are , as near as makes no difference , 100% efficent , so your input price is ...
