Re: Converting open loop to closed

Ok, thanks for the input. It looks like I was misinformed, I was led to believe that closed loop would be more economical/power efficient, adjusting the mixture automatically ... I'll have to try and set the mixture properly ... I'll be back for advice on that when I find out what the system is ;)

Re: Converting open loop to closed

Exhaust removal and welding (for the boss I assume) should be ok, I have a fiend who can do that.

As for returns, the main reason I was thinking about it was for hopefully slightly more fuel/power when needed. I think the current system has been set to run too lean as the car is now having a new ...

Converting open loop to closed

Ok, I'm thinking about a mini upgrade on the Alfa's rather basic single point system. How difficult/easy is it and any recommendation for what to use?

I was thinking VP-100 from Tinley, http://www.tinleytech.co.uk/acatalog/System_Upgrades.html Second one down on the page £121.44+VAT

A couple of lpg tanks

Long story, but I've ended up with 2 spare tanks, so I'm looking to shift one or poss both.

1. 60l cylinder, 315mm diameter (so quite narrow) single hole, valve etc fitted, straps not included, prob a bit of gas left in it ... £25

If you require more details let me know and I'll dig them out and ...

Re: Dont recommend this installer

If the installation is really bad, would it be worth contacting trading standards, fit for use etc?

Re: Eco-Vac ?

Hi all, I thought I'd dig this up as I'm considering an eco-vac as it seems quite a simple way to improve an open loop system (as fitted on my Alfa) ... ie. suitable for me to install ;)

So, has anyone any experience of the ecovac thing? ... or is it just a waste of money?

Re: Just saying hello

The 75's belong to the guy I bought the car from, he's a bit of an Alfa nut, and has a GTV as well as the 75's.
Personally I'm a bit more ecclectic, but am starting to have a fondness for Italian cars. I've also got a Lancia Thema, which I am trying to justify spending double what I paid for the ...

Just saying hello

Hi,
just thought I'd register and say hello, I'm a bit of a car nut and live near Lincoln. I've recently acquired an Alfa 155, its the 2.0 8v and I'm currently getting about 30mpg from it on lpg. I'm not sure what the system is in it, except it's single point with a 60l cylinder tank in the boot. I ...
