Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

I went to the original installer today and he gave me two of his old laptops (that no longer booted up) to try to recover the old maps.

I brought them home and recovered several of my car's maps (made over a couple of years) plus a number of maps from other cars, including another P38A Rangie. I'll ...

Re: With li reducing why hasn't LPG dropped in cost?

It's dropped here in Oz from about 80c/litre (40p) to 66c/litre (33p). It was cheaper until the govt. introduced excise on LPG. It used to be excise free.

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

Once again, thank you for your reply and for taking so much time to help.

I had a look but couldn't find anywhere to adjust the reference pressure.

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

I've lifted the converter pressure to 0.97. With the pressure set higher, the injection time has come down. It's a bit late to go out and do some driving tests so I'll do that tomorrow.

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

Update: I took the car for a 35km run and not once did it drop out of LPG!

I'm hoping it's sorted.

Thanks for your help, Simon.

I see there is a KME set up document on the German LPG forum. I'll have to join to download it, I assume it will be in German. Too bad I can't read German.

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

Gaahhh! I just posted a long reply and the system logged me out before submitting it! :( This reply is much shorter!

Sorry, Simon, if I wasn't clear. I didn't realise one could change the set working pressure in software. I changed the gas pressure at the converter (yes, it is a KME Gold). I ...

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

Hi Simon,

I switched between the two sensors and the gas pressure value dropped. I tried the G3 software and it had the gas pressure on a red background so I increased it to 0.80 where the background went to yellow.

I've changed the RPM source to Injectors (it was on RPM).

The Switching to Petrol ...

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

The vacuum line is still connected and I can't see any splits in it.

I installed the G3 software on my laptop but it brings up a raft of errors that don't exist with the Version 1.45 software. I tried a firmware update from the G3 software but it won't update on my ECU. I'll email KME to find out ...

Re: KME Diego switching off on deceleration

Thanks Simon, I'll check those things tomorrow. It's a bit late (9.30pm) to annoy the neighbours. :D

I don't recall changing the setting of the pressure sensor when I changed it. The software is pretty old, it came with the LPG system which was installed in 2007.

I need to pull the battery out to ...

KME Diego switching off on deceleration

I have a KME Diego sequential system on my 4.6 litre P38A Range Rover.

A few months back I replaced the older style gas pressure/MAP sensor that had failed (again):

You do have to chuckle at the American's though. 250bhp out of a 5.9 litre V8? An engine that size from any European or Japanese manufacturer would be putting a smidge more power onto the road than that

But which engine will have the higher torque ...

Co-locating the LPG filler with the petrol filler is common Australia. We have a national standards (AS/NZ1425) for LPG installation which must be met. (AS = Australian Standard - simialr to BS. NZ means it's the New Zealand standard as well). Installations must be donme by qualified, i.e., trained ...

If it was so good all the taxis, company car drivers etc would be on it-instead they are all driving diesels.

In Australia you'd be struggling to find a diesel taxi. Nearly all of them are LPG. OK, you might find a petrol one in the bush where LPG is expensive or unobtainable. Diesel cars here ...

Actually, there is a scarcity of Aussie LPG forums! That's why I'm here. Lots more LR experience here, too. LR sell about as many vehicles (total)in a year as Toyota sell 4WDs in a month here. Crikey, are you allowed to do your own servicing.
Similar regs to visit the uk also perhaps. Mind you I am a qualified electrician but cannot do major work on my own house because I am not registered at present. Same for Corgi fitters too though, and nurses and doctors even consultants.

Re: Range Rover 1996 HSE 4.6 on LPG tank in spare well MPG i

The tank is a 60 litre tank in the spare wheel well.

60 litres LPG or 60 litres water capacity?

a 60 litre water capacity tank holds about 48 litres of LPG (80%).

Your system could also be changing back to petrol due to low supply pressure from the tank when it gets low.

Consumption-wise, I ...
