EV conversions

For the past ten years or so I have been thinking about doing a electric conversion but the cost is very high still. There is a market for EV conversions and as the LPG conversion trade is slowing down is EV conversions teh way forward for some of use LPG installers?

Thoughts?

No idle control valve as it is fly by wire.

Re: Volvo with valvesaver- a real mess!

I very much doubt it is being caused by the valve saver. The throttle body gumming up is common for causing issues and having a bit of gunk in the manifold is nothing unusual. I would give it all a good clean and clean/replace the PCV. I would check teh vapouriser is not leaking gas into the manifol...

It is variable. Wiring is black to earth, Green to green and white to white but not all switches will work with it. Most switches are dedicated to one type of sender.

Re: Wow! Too good to be True? Convert from Carbs with No Mix

I spoke to the designer a few years ago. He sounded like they had the system nailed for working on carb engines. I'm not certain it will give an advantage over a mixer other than backfire aspect. I have used a couple of standalone systems before and results have not been as good as a mixer :( Micros...

Re: LPG on Jaguar XF 3L or Mercedes CL 5L

Valve saver does work and is proven however I would agree with you that given the choice go for an engine that does not need it. I am not a Merc guy but am always impressed with the ones I have converted. For me it would be a choice between a merc and Lexus.

Re: TVR Chimaera LPG Conversion Advice

Europegas have ecu's where the timing can be altered and there are also timing advance processors available. There are also options like the 123tune or megajolt available for ignition only. There is also the option of stand alone lpg injection systems where lpg can be electronic and petrol could sta...

Re: TVR Chimaera LPG Conversion Advice

I am glad you are happy with how it all turned out and is all working as you want. If going down this path I would have still chosen Megasquirt over anything else based on knowing it works and price. The problem using a lesser known system is will the support be there in years to come? There are sti...

On the other side of that there is a brass lever arm. The seal on that arm is the most common cause of leaks on the OMVL

Re: XC90

The T6 had a weak GM gearbox so stay away from that. The 2.4 and 3.2 are the engines to go for.

Millage sub 200,000 is probably the best bet
