New System seems to be using Petrol as well as LPG!!
Anyone on the forum know anything about Star Gas systems circa 2000. I have a Jeep 4.0l which runs fine on petrol and when switched over to gas also runs fine for a time and then for no apparent reason switches back to petrol for a second or two before clicking back over to gas. As you can imagine ...

Cherokee Jeep intermittent lumpiness/ missing
Have done some further investigation and it seems that the system is switching back to petrol for no apparent reason intermittently. The system is a Stargas system using a single mixer. Does anyone know how to force the system to run on Gas and can it be made to start on gas and continue to run on ...

Hi I have a 1993 Jeep purchased recently which was converted in 2000 having a Stargas system fitted. It is single point. The vapourizer is a Stargas type. The symptom is that from time to time the engine seems to shut down very breifly and then runs normally again. It seems to happen under all ...

Romano Vapouriser in Rolls Royce
Hi Bob,
I actually checked that yesterday after your earlier note and yes the breather is between the mixer and the engine. Could be a recipe for disaster as you rightly state. I am a retired ship's engineer and have seen the said crackcase doors operate in anger.....very frightening ....but can ...

Romano Vapouriser in Rolls Royce
Thanks for that Bob. My system does not have lambda control or stepper valve , it only has a manually adjusted max flow limiter and a single mixer before the choke. I can see that it is less than perfect and may look at some mods to the system. The fuel consumption improvement on yours makes the ...

Romano Vapouriser in Rolls Royce
Hi Guys have now managed to get the intake system reassembled correctly and guess what the thing runs perfectly again. It starts on gas without too much problem as it is garaged but can anyone advise me whether it is better to switch from petrol to gas while running under power or idling to avoid ...

Anyone out there any experience in converting Ford V10 6.8 ltr 310 bhp unit in an Excursion? I am intrested in buying one but only if it can be converted and run well on gas. An idea of cost for conversion with undercar tanks would be useful as well.
Thank you

Thanks for that advice Mike. I have now obtained a replacement for the split hose and will try the system again after fitting. How would I know if the vaporiser diaphragm is split? Are there any pressure measurements I can take? I guess I will have to get some training in order to fully understand ...

Romano Vapouriser in Rolls Royce
Thanks for that Steve. The car was converted about 18 months ago by Autogas worldwide in Newport and has run fine until now. The reason I have a problem is that the car has been idle for around 4 months and wouldn't start on petrol because the petrol pump had stuck ( a common fault with electric ...

I have a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow fitted with a Romano Vaporiser and single mixer. My problem is that it appears that the mixture is too lean on idle on LPG. Could anyone direct me to a site or listing that would show me how to set up the vaporiser. Also I have heard of some of these 6.7 ltr V8's ...
