Re: Lpg switch positive connection

I think I'm grasping most of what you're saying... 1. On 'When the engine has only been turned off for 10 minutes the car won't start up'... Do you mean (A) if the engine is still relatively cold (not been run for long then you turn it off and leave it for 10 minutes before trying to start), or (B) ...

Re: Lack of lpg North Yorkshire

First I've heard about this

But since yesterday I've filled 3 LPG vehicles up at forecourts in Doncaster (Morrisons York Road) and Wakefield (Redbeck), also passed another 2 forecourts selling LPG as usual in Castleford and Doncaster.

Re: info for alternative connection with dual tank.

The simplest way would be to fit 2 gauges and 2 senders (you have one of each already), so you'd have a sender on each tank wired to separate gauges. Gas doesn't 'pour' from one tank to another but unless your setup has one way valves fitted in the tank outlets (in the pipe from tank outlets) or the...

It's just over 2 years since I converted the same model vehicle (Jeep SRT8 with 6.1Hemi), I've converted quite a few, also converted a 300C SRT8 for an owner I converted a Jeep SRT8 for, none have had any problems - I keep notes of any unusual aspects but didn't make any for the SRT8s so I know ther...

Re: Sometimes hesitates and bucks on lpg

If it's a misfire would expect ignition system or injectors if nothing else has changed, but misfires are obvious and don't feel like moving the throttle. Does the same happen when the engine is still warming up (soon after changing to LPG but engine not yet up to normal temperature)? What LPG syste...

Re: lpg feed pipe size on 500 bhp engine.

Thought I'd replied last, sorry! Read back a few pages to try to find what reducers you have fitted and how you plumbed them in but didn't find that info... I know you have the Prins reducer fuelling one of the engines (which one?), what make/model reducer is driving the other engine? Or are both re...

Re: MB GL 450 engine start problems

If a physical petrol return is fitted it can drain all the petrol pressure if active too long (or it's restricting jet is too large) after the ignition has been turned off, this then causes starting problems on petrol. If you switch back to petrol before turning the engine off is the problem of bad ...

Re: Tartrini LPG pressure switch switching over to petrol

I'd suspect one of 2 things... Either the tank is filling to 100% of capacity and the valve doesn't want to open due to some (un-intuitive) aspect related to higher pressure when the tank is near 100% hydraulically full / Or there is some coincidence going on... The conditions when you fill the tank...

Re: info for alternative connection with dual tank.

Normally we expect tanks (on multiple tank setups) to empty at the same rate but they can empty one tank before much has been used out of the other. As Bri says really. On some installs I have fitted a sender on each tank and a switch on the dash to flick between senders but it's hit and miss becaus...

Re: Gas Certificate..

I replied to MacDubbin's PM.... Hi, I can definitely fix it. I can supply a certificate and database registration but would need to inspect the LPG conversion because I didn't fit it. Worth saying that LPGA has changed name twice since it was called LPGA, first to UKLPG (for several years) then rece...

ECUs to suit the engine are in production.. supposedly anyway.. It's whether or not there are any available to buy off a shelf or available soon from another production run. You might try TinleyTech and LPGShop. I am a professional LPG convertor, wouldn't advise fitting the system yourself, the engi...

Re: Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost on LPG

Valve lube systems are standard affair that should be fitted on all Fords and Jap stuff, the real question mark over converting the 3.5 Ecoboost is whether parts are available - Ford Ecoboost(s) are direct injection engines, direct injection engines can only be converted with LPG kit that is specifi...

Re: Lpg switch positive connection

Describing a car with an engine Start/Stop button, the idea is that when the engine is warm and the start button is pressed the engine starts on LPG instead of running a couple of seconds on petrol. Not that this makes much difference... It would definitely be handy to know what car it is if asking ...

If I understand you correctly it won't make much difference.

The 'ignition on' wire is usually connected to injector positive in the engine bay anyway.

Re: lpg feed pipe size on 500 bhp engine.

Great write up as usual Rob! Does fuel pressure stay at 15psi under load? How does the ECU calculate dc (is it just straight electronic pulse time or does it take into account injector opening and closing time)? You drilled nozzles to 2.9, 3.0 nozzles should flow up to about 7% more gas. I know the ...

Yes the misfire has only occurred on lpg
Only during the transition period from petrol to LPG, only when running on LPG, or both?

Anyway... Does it seem you have fixed the problem by messing with the coil packs?

What LPG system is it (sorry to ask again if you've already said)?

Re: Chrysler Voyager

I've owned plenty LPG'd Grand Voyagers. The maximum tank size/capacity they can be fitted with can depend on whether the GV is an older model with it's spare wheel underslung at the back (around 80l), a later stow n go model (around 60L) or late model with Pentastar direct injection engine (it is un...

Re: Random Misfire Cyl4

Burned valves give more symptoms at low rpm and low load than at higher rpm and higher loads... LPG at correct mixture doesn't burn valves but petrol at lean mixture or LPG at lean mixture will burn valves. LPG on vehicles that need a lube system for LPG but don't have a lube fitted will cause VSR w...

Re: Most economical budget-car conversion

little 3 pot engines are ok but on petrol, on LPG they lack of performance. You need to rev that 3 pot so you won't get decent economy. A little na 3 pot isn't going to be good on performance but an LPG conversion shouldn't make any difference to that performance. A lot of 3 pot engines have furthe...

Re: VW 2004 beetle lpg problem

This does seem to be a problem with the car itself as opposed to an LPG system problem. The only case in which I'd suspect otherwise in this situation (though still unlikely) is if the LPG system is connected to the canbus/OBD (to read fuel trim data), with a Prins system that's unlikely but possibl...
