Re: Lpg changes back to petrol

I have noticed that if I rev the engine quite high, give it a few blips on the accelerator the problem seems to diminish until the next time the engine is started. Sometimes get that on engines that don't return to closed loop operation (on return to idle after the engine has been revved a bit) unt...

Re: Gas won’t switch from LPG to Petrol

Could be wired to petrol injector wiring in the E box (electronics box which contains the petrol ECU etc), failing that if it's a V8 it's probably hard wired inside the plastic boxes above cam covers at either side of the engine. But is it a V8 or a 3L? ECU looks to be horizontal near the positive j...

Re: Gas won’t switch from LPG to Petrol

Yours is a 750b switch (old lol!) TinleyTech will sort you out with a compatible replacement anyway :-) I would expect a 119b with adaptor lead to work where a 750b has been, maybe on very rare occasion (specific board and firmware versions) that wouldn't work a 750 (not b) rocker switch (older type...

Re: Gas won’t switch from LPG to Petrol

No probs, yeh I think a new switch is your best bet at the moment and certainly worth a shot for the cost. Be sure to get an AEB119 switch and not the very similar looking Piro switch. Aargh hang on! That is as long as your switch is square not rectangular? Maybe post a pic of your switch?

Nice one Rob :-)

Reckon the wording on your mixture reading gear second pic up just about sums you up... Mr Innovate! This thread and your other thread have been very impressive and just keep getting better! Would love to be Robin in your Batcave lol.

Re: Gas won’t switch from LPG to Petrol

It is possible with the correct dongles/software etc to set systems to 'monofuel' (start on gas and only run on gas regardless of whether the switch is pressed).. this would fit the symptoms you've described better than any other scenario... because they will usually revert to petrol mode when the f...

Re: Gas won’t switch from LPG to Petrol

It won't switch from gas to petrol - Is that under any conditions (even when starting the engine, even when you press the switch, even when you run out of gas) or just certain condition(s)? So what happens it you start the engine with fuse out then put the fuse in when the engine is running? Have yo...

Re: reducer temp. sensor spec

Gas temp is usually 15C or so (at light loads) below reducer temp, and isn't the BRC temp sensor a Bosch low resistance spec type? If your software is missing the vapour temp sender type selector what version King software are you using? I know some earlier versions had that selection missing (and s...

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.

Very good, well done :-) I've converted loads of V10 RV's (and of course V8's), on V10's with a bit of a bonnet (where you access the front of the engine via the bonnet and access the rear of the engine via cover inside) the nearside (foreign drivers side) wing area is usually a good area to mount t...

Re: part throttle hesitation

Those injo1 injectors aren't great in terms of performance or reliability - have a listen to each injector and see if they all sound the same, using a bit of pipe as a stethoscope can help. Don't go any higher on pressure than 1.4.

Re: reducer temp. sensor spec

Just to clarify then... It wasn't the reducer temp sensor at fault it was the gas vapour temp sensor at fault? You can mix and match sensor specs, software allows selection of individual sensor types. To get by you can disable error reporting / LPG system OBD in the 'injectors check' screen by untic...

Re: Lpg changes back to petrol

Nothing at all special or unusual about 1.2 'fire' engine so conversion is very straightforward... But, cylinders are only 300cc each and long pipe runs are more of an issue on engines with little cylinders.. any pics of the LPG install on the engine (pipe runs between injector rails and manifold et...

JTS could be 4pot or V6. Both direct injection though... and in case you didn't know - direct injection engines are not a straightforward conversion.

Re: part throttle hesitation

Could do with increasing pressure a bit to maybe 1.4 bar. See what I mean with different shapes of maps, in the first (dodgy) map the multiplier dipped at 4ms which is the opposite of what should be expected, in your last map pic multiplier starts off high and then dips after 6ms, much better but st...

Re: Pop and bang on LPG

As long as the petrol ECU provides for a petrol injection pulse the fuelling aspect here is easy enough to set up with many LPG systems but the ignition timing aspect can only easily be manipulated by mapping the petrol ECU. If the car pops and bangs on petrol it can be set up to do the same on LPG....

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.

Sorry to read that, that's my 5% off-chance scenario proved to be realised here then. When these ECU's have an injector output problem it normally involves more than one injector, a set of 2 output channels must share electronic components. Been years since I fitted a 10 cyl AEB ECU (I've converted ...

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.

Reckon 95% a faulty injector coil, 5% chance that the ECU is dodgy on that channel (peak and hold can go wrong) and burned the coil that overheated / got damaged. If another injector/coil on the same channel doesn't get hot or damaged it will be the injector for sure. Result! TT and most current wel...
