It works quite happily anyway. Just not terribly accurately.

When I push the 'stop' button, the engine switches off and the hand brake is applied. Everything else stays powered up until I get out and close the door.
I haven't yet worked out a way to get out of the car and close the door whilst still keeping the meter button depressed but I'm open to ...

My Stag manual gives instructions on how to automatically calibrate the LPG level indicator thus
1. Depress and hold the indicator button
2. Switch off the ignition.

I have in the past, messed around with the voltages to try to get a more accurate reading but when I saw that it was possible to do an automatic calibration, I thought I'd give it a go.
Like John_D, I always reset after each fill and go by the mileage so I'll stick with that.

you should stick around, can never have enough installers offering advice.
Its one thing offering advise John but the hard part is getting brainwashed customers to listen to it (factory trained / done in a day cheap cheap). Remember pay cheap pay twice their are no realy bad systems just bad ...

My laptop/Stag 4 connection is pretty flaky unless my laptop battery is fully charged.
It's not always perfect even then but it usually connects eventually.

One of the only things that bugs me about going over to LPG is the speed of filling at the pump.

I used Professautogas 18 months ago to do my Grand Scenic and I have never had the slightest problem.
