You could drill a 5mm hole, tap it to 6mm, put a flat head cap screw in from the top, push the clip and secure with a nut.

Alternatively, not many boot floors are totally flat, look for a ridged part where the tank wont be touching and tap a short screw in there.

If you haven't already make sure that the interconnecting pins are making a good connection.

I think you've established that you get a COM port appear on your PC, so that part is fine.

The connector at the end of the lead could be the wrong one, ie it fits but is wired incorrectly, hence you cant connect to the ECU.

You can buy the ECU off me, it's a new unused spare I had but eliminate ...

Try a different cable.

Are you sure you have the correct lead to connect to Agis ?

Do you have the correct drivers installed for this lead ?

With the lead not connected to the computer, go into the Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager, expand Ports (COM &LPT).

Now plug in the cable ... do you get a COM port appear ...

From your description his actually sounds like a simple solenoid valve failure. There should be one valve at the front by the reducer and one on the tank, when you're experiencing the issue, these need to be checked.

What are the hose clips like on there ?

Get some quality hose clip, that can be tightened firmly and don't slip or lose shape when tight.

Uh, you hire one to try on the car ? See if your diagnosis is correct by putting a known good one on. Immobilisers and keys are generally stored in the body ecu. Not the dme.

I always use a portable gas soldering iron for any soldering work on cars. It's portable, you have no wires tugging at you, it's quick to heat up and there's no risk to electronics.

67R01 is the European LPG standard, so thats not the part number.

Was it a gummed up reducer ? If that was gummed up, you'd also be having some running rough issues too ??
