Hello,
No this on my '97 Range Rover P38 4.6 V8.
I have access to an emissions tester and was just checking it on petrol and to LPG to just check what it was like on LPG and that when I saw the difference.
The calibration is pretty good, injector times and short term fuel trims remain steady no ...

Spark plugs are old so maybe it's that!

High HC levels at idle.
Hello All,
I have just had my emissions tested and I have a sizeable difference in the HC reading when on petrol and when on LPG.
The LPG HC reading is much higher. The car runs fine on both LPG and Petrol, and the emissions are well under the threashold for a U.K. MOT emissions test on petrol, it ...

Time to close this thread out!
I've spent most of the day at Tinley Tech with one of their guys testing and probing. It looks like it was the ECU holding injector output F and maybe G to earth causing the injector coil to burn out. The faulty ECU was applying full alternator voltage as soon as the ...

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
New rail arrived and fitted. Same error!
The new rail was getting hot to the touch, so I've switched off.
I've now probed the injector connections, and it looks like injectors F and G are being held open. I'm reading a steady voltage of 14.4v for injector F and almost the same for injector G!

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
Right,
I've done some tests, the fault stays with the injector as soon as you move the connection.
I was going to move the whole rail to test it on some other cylinders, but when I touched the casing to the injector it was red hot and burnt my finger.

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
Thanks for the reply.
The fault only logs when running on gas. When on petrol it all looks good, with no injectors showing "X".
I connected all the bank 2 injectors (positive included) at the rear of the engine because that's where I had best access. If the positive connection did cause a problem ...

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
Morning All,
I've finished the installation, I'm pretty happy with it too. Certainly the best one I've done in terms of neatness, and technical problem solving.
Except for one thing.... it doesn't work.

7.5 is the threshold. As mine is a class C RV I'm well inside that. People do replate class A RVs to get them under 7.5 tonnes. I probably would have done that if I'd bought one!

its a 2015 Winnebago 31H, but the running gear is a Ford E450 Superduty with the 6.8 litre V10.

Re: Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
I have had it on my OBD reader. I don't remember seeing a fuel pressure reading, I also don't think I can see a pressure sensor... How does that work when the LPG is running then? Does the fuel pump just keep pumping away? I'd have thought that that's a bad thing?

I should like to see pictures of the V12 conversion!
Single 10 cylinder system it is then, thanks for the advice.
Are there any pitfalls to fitting two tanks? I'd like to have a filler on each side too, so I can go to either side of the pump. Is it just careful plumbing and non return valves, or ...

Converting a Ford Triton 6.8 litre 362HP V10 to run on LPG.
Dear All,
I'm thinking of converting a nearly new petrol powered RV to run on LPG. The engine is a Ford Triton V10 producing 362HP.
I'd be doing the conversion myself (my 3rd), and have just been looking about for ideas.
I'd be very interested to know the forum's thoughts on what kit to go for ...

Cheers Tubbs.
Do I need to replace them, or can they be disassembled and cleaned?
There's one in the multivalve, and one at the reducer end isn't there?

BiGas returns to petrol after filling LPG tank…?
Hello,
I have a BiGas sequential system fitted to my P38 Range Rover 4.6.
It has been perfect since the system was installed about 18 months ago, however I now have an occasional problem.
Sometimes, after filling up, 2-3 miles down the road the system beeps and changes over to petrol, as if it ...

Re: filling time multivalve vs 4 hole
I have made some scientific measurements with my iPhone stopwatch and a BP pump.
Emer multivale, and Faro polypipe.
I too am getting a litre in just under 3 seconds. 2.5 at the start of the fill in fact, so not bad at all.
Certainly fast enough not to worry about.

Re: filling time multivalve vs 4 hole
I have to say I'm not bothered about the speed of the fill. It is plenty fast enough.Tubbs wrote:...Emer valve with poly. A litre in just under 3 seconds. What exactly is wrong with that ?
It's the reduced quantity I'm worried about. It knocks 25 miles off my range!

Re: filling time multivalve vs 4 hole
Well,
I've had my polypipe in place now for a few weeks. It is a bit slower to fill (I don't have exact times I'm afraid) not more than a minute (longer than it used to) on 70litres I wouldn't have thought, but I'm not getting as much in as I used to.
