Re: Death of UKLPG scheme!!

You are so right there Simon!!

One of the reasons why that garage didn't want to touch LPG cars any more was one of the Vectra owner was so upset and went ballistic, swearing and blinding claiming it was fully approved conversion etc, which of course my mate didn't understand what that meant at the ...

Re: Death of UKLPG scheme!!

Hats off to Simon for expanding further into details of what actually went on behind the scenes. Very interesting read, thank you.
(By the way, I was being sarcastic when I said 'good intentions' as I associate that term a lot with failing politicians...)

Anyway, totally agree with all the points ...

Death of UKLPG scheme!!

Not that most of us here care, but I just found out that UKLPG's installer scheme, run by the autogas lobbying trade body has closed down.

It was a funny scheme with good intentions at ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

That's right SImon, when they upped it from 89 to 99.9p circa Feb 2024.

Talking of which couple of independently run Shell stations have now dropped their prices to 77p mark from 80p.

Very poor journalism

So, they are happy to rack up some article on 10p difference on petrol and diesel, but not looked into scandalous price differences of LPG!!

Re: Morrisons price increase

Strange thing about Morrisons, the Chingford and Enfield branch, they dropped their prices to £1.15 when initially all other branches put it up to £1.29. Since others have dropped it down to £1.09, but those two branches carry on with £1.15. The so called invisible loss of business is already ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

To be honest, they can mess around all they like, I've stopped using them very long time ago. There are many independents that are competitive and provide great customer service.

Re: Rodent (Squirrel?) eaten Flashlube bottle!?

Yes, rodents hate garlic, other alternatives to this are pepper mint, coffee, thyme, chilli powder and cinnamon which aren't too bad smell wise compared to garlic. As for coffee, any used remains on the filter would do.

The most effective method is a help from a feline friend - i.e. cat. I ...

Re: Injectors firing too early?

Simon is correct, the 2GR series engines have variations. The 2GR-FE is a simple port injected engine. The ones with direct injection will be 2GR-FSE, 2GR-FKS and 2GR-FXS.

Re: Morrisons price increase

What a bollocks reply from MFG.

Remember back in the days when those stations were MRH before MFG took over? Those were great times but since MFG took over it became the most expensive in terms of both LPG and petrol/diesel. Nothing but trouble.

Re: Morrisons price increase

We always seem to get the bad end of the deal here in the UK...

Despite the ULEZ and all those redtapes, whenever I go to London to work, the car and other things still get covered in black particles, coming from diesels even staying only for few days. LPG is a good alternative to tackle this yet ...

Re: Keele services M6 southbound.

The other thing I notice especially on filllpg site is, people who can't do basic maths. The moment the price goes above 99.9p per litre it seems to throw them and put things like 12.9p where it should be 129.9p. I find generations who gone through decimalisation, who's dealt with Pound, Shilling ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

All these bodies seem to be wasting tax payers money. Utter waster of space. The facts are all there, the signs are all there with everyone complaining through this forum as well as media discussions, Facebook etc. It's so obvious. They might all be in it together!!

Re: Morrisons price increase

My response from MFG.

Dear Ben,

Regrettably our LPG supplier unilaterally decided to more than treble the supply premium for the supply of LPG on a take or leave it basis. Our pump price increase merely reflects the increase in LPG price than we have been faced with, our gross margin is the same ...

Never knew Marmite flavoured Cashew Nuts existed! Need to get that for my friend in Japan as he absolutely loves Marmite and also cashew. Wow Gilbertd, you're such a nice person.

Re: Morrisons price increase

Luckily I've got a friendly independent not very nearby but due to rip off prices charged by Morrisons and MFG, still works out cheaper a little venture to the country side to fill up, but people like yourself not having anything nearby might as well run on petrol at that prices.

I've got a similar ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

Just noticed the silly price increase on Morrisons. I've ditched Morrisons for both fuel and shopping long time ago, filling up at independent. You're right, I've contacted Competition & Marketing Authority while back but still haven't got a reply.

Don't know a price increase of 30p overnight can ...
