Re: RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
I've now managed to shorten the pipes and further adjusted the mixer and it is much improved. It still dives lower than when on petrol on returning to tickover but I think this may be down to the age of the sensor etc. This is likely to be as good as it can be. It doesn't stall anymore and seems ...

Re: RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
Only just seen your messages. Thanks for the responses. On the way home last night I removed the default lock and set the idle steps to 255/255.
The stalling has become worse.
The default moved up to around 115. When it returns to idle it eventually falls to around 45. It takes anything from 5 ...

Re: RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
Wouldn't that affect the running on petrol as well? It runs perfectly on petrol.Tubbs wrote:Where is the idle air control valve ? It's bugging me !!

Re: RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
Open the idle limits to 255 upper and lower then see if the lambda starts flipping at idle. Assuming it does, that should give you a rough idea of where the actuator needs to be at idle. Then rev the engine and see where the actuator sits out of idle. The two want to be roughly the same. If it's ...

Re: RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
Thanks for the responses.
I have a fair understanding of the aeb system as i've used it on a couple of range rovers and a jeep and it works perfectly on those. I'm familiar with the requirement to have the actuator moving between rich and lean constantly.

RAV 4 cuts out/low tickover
Hello,
My 1998 2.0 Toyota RAV 4 has an AEB/Leo controller and a Bigas vapouriser.
Since installation I have never been able to get it to tick over correctly/consistently.
When it starts it's fine but when it warms up the revs drop to around 700rpm (should be around 1000rpm). After a run at high ...

Re: Switchover problems
I think the issue has been resolved.
The stepper motor seems to be faulty. I swapped it with a spare and the problem has gone away. It now starts on gas from stone cold and runs wells. The laptop shows the lamda flicking between rich and lean as expected and no errors being logged.

Sensor works as expected when running on petrol, flicks between rich and lean when under load.rossko wrote:What fuel were you running when you observed the sensor? How does it behave on the other fuel?

Re: Switchover problems
Ive plugged in my laptop and had a look today. The most obvious issue seems to be that the O2 sensor readings seem to be inverted - green when under power and red when foot off (going downhill).
Am I right in thinking the lamda sensor is goosed?

Hello,
I have a 98 Rav4 fitted with an AEB175 system.
It is difficult to switch to LPG when cold. I have to run it for about ten minutes before attempting to switch to LPG. It then will fail to switch to LPG about 6 or 7 times - I have to keep switching between petrol and LPG and then it finally ...

AEB Leonardo wiring on 92 Range Rover.
Hi,
Can anyone offer advice on where to connect the Red switched live from the Leo on a 92 Range Rover to get the required 12v when cranking the engine?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Vauxhall combo 03 LPG failed
Have you tried pulling the fuses for 15 minutes to see if a reset on the ECU helps?
Faulty switch? Wire disconnected?
Bad earth to the LPG ECU? (Fairly common problem.)
Plugs to the ECU not fully home?
ECU faulty?
Get the main ECU fault codes reset and test again after a couple of weeks ...

Re: 1992 Range Rover running poorly on LPG
Thanks for the info guys.
I haven't had chance to check it yet - very busy couple of days.
I'm pretty sure it will only be one emulator that has failed as the lambda reading was normal, the lambda is fitted to the left manifold downpipe. The right emulator/wiring has failed.
Will let you know how ...

Re: 1992 Range Rover running poorly on LPG
They are plug in loom type. Just pulled C4 and it did start running correctly. I will double check the harnesses and connections tomorrow. If they look good I will replace the emulators. Thanks very much for the info.

1992 Range Rover running poorly on LPG
Hi,
I am fitting an AEB 175 kit with Pitagoro emulators onto the Range Rover.
I can get it to switch over to LPG but it sounds like it's got a misfire and there is quite a strong smell of petrol fumes from the exhaust. I can see the lamda sensor is working ok and it flicks between rich and lean ...

Vauxhall combo 03 LPG failed
Hello folks,
The LPG system on the Combo has failed. The light on the switch by the gearstick doesn't come on, there is a very faint glow from it but this can only be seen at night.
It did start to misfire (on petrol and gas, didn't make any difference) a couple of times recently. It seemed to ...
