I had the same problem on a discovery v8 last year , ran fine unless i floored it then it would cut out when i came back off the accelorator.... i never got to the bottom of it but always assumed the system wasnt reacting quick enough to adjust the mixture.

Hi ,

No its single point injection - 1 injector serves all cylnders. - was quite suprised myself to see this on such a modern car.
Its a year 2000 1.6 8 valve if that also helps

thanks Ryan

Is it a bad move to be starting it on gas straight away once its warm? i was told to start mine on petrol first then wait for it to change over , but it can start on gas immediately , does it increase the blowback risk?

Not had any problems with my discovery 3.9 on a mixer system. assuming that engine is well maintained and the gas instalation is good , a mixer system should work ok on that engine.

Worth checking its a closed loop mixer though! , if it isnt catalytic converters wont be lasting long
