Re: MOT Fail

Lol, someone was pointing out little timer devices for sale on ebay that have adjustable delays so it's not obvious. As I said though if possible do fix the fault and save the polar bears having to swim as their iceberg melts. Actually thinking about it if the system has never been looked at could i...

Re: MOT Fail

This is the wrong thing to say but there's no way I would consider stripping out the lpg for a possible solution to the EML light or scrapping an otherwise viable car. Get the codes read and see what error you have. Get them cleared, run on petrol and see how long it goes before the light comes back...

Re: Lpg filling tank at home

I asked a similar question a while ago for a property i was looking (with no existing gas supply) at as we go through between 100-300l a week. All the main suppliers refused to supply/ install a tank for heating and autogas or any tank with a liquid tank off (ie one tank for both). None would supply...

Re: Anybody near Flimwell A21?

You could well be right - it was just the way it was set out with a metal spike type compound made me think autogas.
I've found them on the internet now so will email and give them something to laugh at tomorrow :)

Anybody near Flimwell A21?

Driving passed Ashdown Garage Car sales - next to Skinners Sheds it looks like they have a refuelling station behind the office at the back of the lot. I've never been able to stop and ask as I've usually gone by before I have realised!
Anybody know if they do sell gas?

Lpg hand transfer pumps

Due to the recent non availability of lpg down here I'm wanting to ensure I'm not caught out again, does anybody have experience with them? What pressure does it need to generate to overcome the oneway valve on the filler? Are there any manufacturers that are better than others? Thanks - I know with...

Re: Anybody got gas near Gatwick?

Flogas Rowfant no longer have an autogas pump, went in yesterday, they had it taken out in November as they weren't selling enough - that's because they're never open outside work hours :(

Re: Anybody got gas near Gatwick?

It's not a Morrisons anymore, I think its an Esso now (Broadfield service station or similar) quite near Peas Pottage services - both are out :(

Thanks though.

Edit beat me to it!

Re: Why so many stations running out of Gas

Ah, didn't see the interactive map, cheers for that. Not that it's been a great help, threw up a place I 'discovered' this afternoon, after driving past it for years, as having supplies, they didn't about 2 pm, phoned another in Croydon, no LPG. Shell Earlswood have got a couple of days gas left, b...

Anybody got gas near Gatwick?

No auto gas that I can find in Sussex or Surrey apart from one station (Earlswood) with such a wierd pump it won't fit our vehicles, even they say they'll run out in 2 days. Anybody know anyone private with their own tank who will sell me a fill up? Or a hand pump I can borrow and I'll fetch a 47kg ...

Re: Bulk tank for home heating AND autogas

This is looking a bit of a non starter, one company is insisting tanks with both a liquid and vapour take off don't exist! Current prices locally seem to be around 36ppl inc 5% vat as heating fuel. A rough calculation on my part says 32ppl ex vat 31.6 per kg duty so roughly 16ppl duty 20% vat on fue...

Re: Tuning

On the majority of vehicles (that run closed loop fuel injection with narrow band lambda probes fitted) an LPG system should be tuned so fuel trims remain similar when running on LPG to when running on petrol. Tuning by monitoring fuel trims is a more accurate method of tuning for closed loop condi...

Re: Bulk tank for home heating AND autogas

Bringing this thread back from the dead! Just had an offer accepted on another place that's solid fuel only. Can anybody who is on FFRR message the guy with the tank to ask if he had to have crash barriers etc round his tank and a security fence like a commercial filling station due to having a vehi...

Re: is hydrogen on demand compatible with LPG?

The best way to think about this is to try it out for yourself, get yourself a 12v battery, motor and alternator, rig the motor to run off the battery turning the alternator which recharges the battery.

The one at Earlswood, nr Redhill, pretty much impossible to use as the lock back mechanism is foweled by the angle of the new nozzle

Re: Shell LPG - new dispenser type

Yep the new ones at shell are awful, I can fill easily anywhere else but the new lug just makes it impossible.

Has anybody actually told Shell this? The staff at the local station were really apologetic.

Re: Old school technology - wierd issue

Bit of a delay in following up, yes have had the cover off or plug out (can't remember which) to drain the heavy ends, there were only a few drops. Both gas solenoids at the front end appear to be behaving normally. However I think I might have found the problem there is an O ring seal on the gas pi...

Re: Old school technology - wierd issue

More strangeness, it's run fine if richly for 3 days, it ran low on gas 100 miles early and started with the going weak symptoms. Refuelled and its running weak again above 3k rpm. I'm going to clean the last gas cut off solenoid and see if I can check the one on the vapouriser this weekend. Not loo...
