L405 SCV8 Stop Start

Hi all - for th last 6 months I’ve had a 5.0 sc l405 Range Rover 2015. It has a the prins conversion and works very well.

The only issue it has is that in gas when the stop start tries to activate (I.e shut the car off in traffic) it immediately restarts in gas.. every time… on petrol absolutely ...

Re: Hard starting since service?

Never summarised this - the new injector loved the issue… for nearly a year but it’s back… this time there is not one obviously bad one and I’ve cleaned them all with carb cleaner to no avail. Diaphragms seem fine as no bubbles when taking the vacuum line into water so tempted to get 4 injectors and ...

Re: Hard starting since service?

Ok… any idea how to check if it’s the reducer or injectors likely to leak? How does it get into the manifold if it’s the reducer? Through the vacuum line?

Re: Hard starting since service?

Right update… so with one bank off and return to petrol on idle and above 3k it still was a hard start next time.

I then swapped the banks - still hard start.

I then cleared the adaptations again - still a hard start.

Then cleared again and ran for 20miles on petrol to set them again, then ...

Re: Hard starting since service?

It started ok not great but ok after 30 seconds on petrol at the end - in the absence of time to try and tackle your idea potentially about an injector I have disabled a whole bank now and I’ve also set it to return to petrol at 1100rpm and also above 3000rpm.

If this still yields nothing I will ...

Re: Switch over

Have you got access to the software? A lot of the aeb based kits will not allow switchover if a fault is logged - you can clear it with the relevent software and if that’s the problem it will work again if the problem has gone

Re: Hard starting since service?

Thanks -

I can answer a few questions - so it was setup when new and obviously the vacuum line wasn’t split so replacing that and resetting the adaptations hopefully would rule that out?

Regarding fuel return yes it has a physical one but this weekend I’ve ruled that out. I put a new fuel filter ...

Hard starting since service?

So Range Rover 4.2 sc - all been running fine for the last couple of years with flashlube etc…

Anyway it was overdue a service so I did the oil and filter and the two gas filters (have two regulator) and noticed one of the vacuum lines going to the MAP sensor was split. Changed that reset the ...

Re: Switchover buttons leds go out when button pressed?

Took the ground and live cables off both crimp connectors heavily corroded not sure how as they were tight trapped under bolts anyway cleaned them up and so far so good

All working as it should getting rpm and map readings - can only surmise that it was a bad ground as mentioned above

Re: Switchover buttons leds go out when button pressed?

Thanks for the answers here - a few things to try - I can certainly dig the cable out and see if it connects and check map reading.

I can then also check the brown wire as I’ve tried it only within a minute of starting each time.

The leds go off as soon as they start flashing hot or cold.
I ...

Switchover buttons leds go out when button pressed?

I have a v10 bmw on two king kits (1 per bank) it has ran great for 12 (yes 12) years with little problem.

Today after a month with no gas at the station I filled her up, started on petrol fine and both switch buttons are on orange, however if I press one to put it on gas both of them all the leds ...

Lean codes only in winter?

Interesting one - this happened last winter too…

When the temperature drops below around 5c I get random lean codes appear on gas on my 4.2 supercharged l322 with Valtek injectors and king Ecu.
When it’s warmer no faults at all?
Switchover is set to 45c

Any ideas?

Turbo option on AEB software

After figuring out my issue with the cat being a collapsed cat I’ve noticed that the king software has a tickbox inch the main screen for ‘turbo’ silly question what does it do? Mine is ticked and is supercharged I wondered if it was to eliminate turbo lag somehow which isn’t really an issue in ...

I have massively improved this issue now / it would appear I had a collapsed cat and whilst it didnt hamper petrol greatly it did on gas!

Re: Range Rover rich and lean issues

Sorry the reduce plumbing was correct the map sensor is to the cooler and it has an outlet to the reducers

I did take a look but didn’t find anything with odd swings like I’m getting.

I guess the pluming is all good the reducer pipe goes to a rail of injectors both side with small pipes ...
