Just heard back from Big LPG in Barking - they found a leak on fuel hose within tank coming from fuel pump, seems that fuel was pumped, but leaking back into tank and thus not providing enough pressure to fuel rail. Not too expensive to fix in end either at £120. Much happier now, will pick up car ...

Quick update:-
Took car to local (non-lpg) garage last week. They cleaned/refitted throttle body down, check plugs, checked fuel pressure and ran diagnostics (just old O2 sensor errors). But couldn't confirm what was at fault. They gave and suggest an lpg specialist rather than swap random parts on ...

Tried again, reckon I wasn't pressing valve enough last time (was dark). Didn't come out like an aerosol, but a reasonable torrent came out, more at first then died down a little but still continued. Filled a small jar within 5-6 seconds ish. Difficult to judge if that was enough / normal. FWIW ...

It should squirt out under about 3 bar pressure when the engine is being cranked if you press the valve in, not just dribbling...?

Sorry, yep, me rushing this morning before work, didn't notice the little valve behind the black cap. Just tested now, definitely petrol coming through when the engine is cranked over.

Edited pic, arrows points to bit I checked fuel at. Unscrewed to reveal an open pipe, no valve as such. Yep, someone else cranked engine for a bit whilst I tried to catch anything - nothing came out. Hard to say if I could hear fuel pump, lot of other noise, cranking and whirring elsewhere. Pump is ...

OK, rewinding, revisiting prior assumption, checking fuel incoming again. Just to confirm is this the petrol bleed/decompression valve on the fuel rail?

Possibly. Your not interested in the vacuum from the manifold side, it's if you have gas leaking from the vaporiser that's what might cause you issues. Note that a stuck open injector on the gas would cause same to happen though.

Not got very far today, bit colder out, struggling to get the thing started. Had it running briefly (on what I believe is LPG), pulled vacuum hose off vapouriser (yep VG392). Spluttered briefly, but kept going. Definitely a draw on hose from manifold. With hose off, flipping switch to petrol still ...

How do you get it to start on gas when the engine is cold? Which prompts a daft question - Are you sure you're not thinking it's running on gas when it's running on petrol and vice/versa?

Would think you'd check fuel pressure on the rail(?) and that was OK?

My uncle did this, wasn't present, but I believe we confirmed pressure at a fuel hose in the engine bay.

Got a 2005 Vauxhall factory fit dual fuel necam koltec car, that now only runs on LPG. Starting is a struggle when cold, but will get going on LPG then once warmed up will run fine. But switching to petrol will cause it to splutter and cut out. Only code is P0170 (fuel trim). Have checked fuel pump ...

Check out the new Texaco on the A13 (Westbound), over near Dagenham. Currently at 71.9p! Or there's the Flogas depo over in Rainham. Not checked their price in a while, but were usually a penny of two cheaper than Shamansburys or sHell.

Based over near Barking, used them a few times to service my Zafira (stock Necam Koltec). I know they do a lot conversion with Prins.

When screwing the nozzle on, did you turn the whole nozzle/handle clockwise? or just the bit on the end (i.e. keeping handle pointing down)? My first couple of attempts I had had hassle from trying to turn the whole nozzle, handle and all. You just turn the end bit of the nozzle.

When MoT time comes, take it for test running on LPG and tell the tester it is on LPG. It will then be tested to the non-Cat emissions test standard which is less strict than the petrol test.
