Re: Which injectors???

Sorry for the long delay in update. I have playing with the vaporiser pressure and running no nozzles, pressure is between 1.05 and 1.1 seems best. I'm now getting 28/29mpg. Not great but I'll live with it. Can't justify 70quid on new injectors if these ones are working. Car is up for MOT next week ...

Re: Which injectors???

Checked the injector duration in the diagnostic screen, all pretty much the same. I have reduced the pressure to 1.1bar and re-calibrated it, seemed to be driving well. Last tank with no nozzles and 1.3bar was 27.45mpg.

Re: Which injectors???

Sorry for the delay, been super busy at work.

Its a 2.slow.... Its a 2001 2000cc 8 valve. 115bhp AZM engine code, 100k on it, it was my brothers wifes car, never had a hard life. bought it before Christmas, did 1200 miles on petrol, average 36mpg. Converted by Alternativefuelcompany the week before ...

Re: Which injectors???

Hi Simon,

Not sure what you mean "you have wired up one of the injector breaks incorrectly!" could you elaborate a bit please.
I have also checked the injectors are in phase too. This was a proper conversion, carried out at alternativefuelcompany just before Christmas. So I'm not that familiar ...

Re: Which injectors???

Hi, Just in from a quick run, car fully up to temp and nothing on. I'm still waiting on my new injectors coming from lpgshop, ordered 10 days ago... I'm currently running the OMVL's with the 2.5mm nozzles removed. I know this sounds stupid, but the more pressure and more gas I give the car the ...

Re: Which injectors???

What's your maf reading ?
So let's get this straight. You are looking at the times on petrol. No gas on a fully warmed up engine with no load. Lights / aircon / blowers off etc.
I (and I'm sure every other converter here) have done a lot of Vw's. I run a Vw beetle, skoda octavia and even have a ...

Re: Which injectors???

Lambda seems to be fine, if I have adjusted the gas map badly, the engine light comes on and it throws rich/lean errors straight away.
I have replaced the intake pipe on the car also and had a good look for leaks etc.
Now I do see a completely different injection time on VAGCOM compared to gas ECU ...

Re: Which injectors???

I have used Nevo 4 since it came out and have never had a problem or a fueling issue, but I do know of installers that have had fueling issues with OMVL reg injectors. I mentioned earlier to check that it is not running out of phase ? Make sure the LPG injectors are matched with petrol injectors ...

Re: Which injectors???

Cheers Simon,

I'm using new leads and new NGK plugs. I really wouldn't describe it as a misfire, just a hiccup. It is pretty much away now, but that's running 1.25 bar. Each time I change pressure I carry out a full remap. I have redone the petrol map also.

I have the maps perfect on the LPG ...

Re: Which injectors???

Cheers for the replies.

Is it possible that the OMVL's are just not suited to my setup. 500cc per injector? I've used the Magicjets in the past for my higher power setups, 2.2turbo S6 (360bhp) and 1.8T 225bhp. Even those engines were <450cc per injector.

I'm just clutching at straws to try and ...

Which injectors???

Hi all,

I'm having problems with my 2001 Passat, see below

http://www.lpgforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12998

Basically I want to try different injectors. My 3 previous cars have had magic jets installed. I'm having problems finding a set.

Why are the OMVL's much cheaper? There has to be a ...

You could ring Peter at alternativefuelcompany, he's in Aughnacloy, still in NI, but not far from the border.

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

no, not yet....

Update, since fitting the new plugs leads etc, still the hesitation and poor mpg. I have been playing with the LPG pressure, currently at 1.25 bar, misfire pretty much gone, although last fill up indicated 24mpg!!! My last 3 LPG cars have had magicjet injectors fitted, I'm ...

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

Update:

I installed new plugs and leads, the leads were a nightmare to change, and a few looked dodgy, and seemed original with VAG part numbers. I also fitted NGK BKUR6ET-10 as per spec. Car seems to be driving better, have about 400 miles on it since then, still getting 27.9 as a max mpg, filled ...

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

Update:

I had a MAP sensor go dead, it is a double sensor type measuring LPG pressure and MAP pressure. The car would hardly run on lpg as when it was accelerating the LPG pressure would rise instead on going down. Rang Peter (Alternative fuel company), he gave me a new one, so that fixed that ...

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah it's Nevo 4. Can I just unscrew the nozzles as per magicjet? Thats the ones used in the past. I will also by new leads and plugs and try that too.

Should I just buy standard plug/standard gaps or run one range cooler and tighter gap?

Cheers

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

Sorry, maybe misfire is describing it incorrectly, more a hesitation or jolt, but a single occurrence, like when you would run out of LPG and switch onto petrol. Meaning i can't find it at a certain rpm and hold it there missing. If you know what I mean.

Re: Passat 2.0 LPG conversion down 9 MPG!!!

Fuel trim in VAGCOM? or on the LPG ECU? They seem ok, if it was really out (10% or more) i'd get a engine light on.
I was running 1.1bar on the LPG gas pressure and it kept added fuel, up to 10% when driving. I'm currently running 1.2 bar and letting it take 10% of the fuel away, just to try. I'm ...
