Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

I've heard people having problems with cone air filters without honey combs on these engines- the turbulence arround the MAF sensor creates a rich condition. I thought maybe this could be a possibility, just the opposite. Anyway, I was randomly scrolling facebook feed and noticed an identical ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Update.

Found no obvious vacuum leaks, everything seemed to look solid enough, maybe very minor leak under higher pressure from smoke tester..

And I always thought about this- when I bought the car it was very powerful, constant. All this started after the installation of LPG.

This is what I ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

Isolated vacuum leaks. After isolating them found even more. The stud was untightened that lpg hose goes on it. Camshaft sensor seal was leaking too. After all, the results were immediate in fuel trims. On petrol it evens out to 0, on lpg it is a bit rich still. But noticed that sometimes when the ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

Another update. Smoke tested the EW10J4 today. I have two small vacuum leaks near throttle body, one small leak on the oil dipstick and a huge vacuum leak on the PCV hose connection. Will isolate it and report back if it does anything.

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

Sorry for late reply. According to the website I was banned for some reason. Using VPN now. Found a few vacuum leaks, isolated it. Seems to be ok so far, just a little weird that vacuum leaks on an engine with MAP sensor would do anything bad. Anyway it seems to have stabilized at least for now.

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Update:

Found a broken clip on air filter box where part of the box sits on the filter sealing the gap. Fixed it with my DIY clip. I can clearly see now true corrections at idle, no outrageous fluctuations. It is clear now what has to be adjusted. I believe it could have been a turbulence issue ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

I fit smaller nozzles- 2 mm. (It was ~2.6-2.7 before)The autocalibration still leaves me a message- nozzles too big. And leaves me with multiplier curve below 1. I think I don't understand the concept of LTFTs. The LTFT at idle running on petrol is +14.7. STFT remains +/- 3 . I moved multiplier ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Going to keep writing here for now.. But theres have to be some sort of explanation. I do see that LPG temperature has difference in 9 degrees of celsius. But oh come on.. On petrol on idle stft + ltft is arround 10. I set multiplier, I got it correct, on LPG I get same readings (arround +10 ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

I came back for the Camry today. And I noticed a few things. On petrol at idle the stft + ltft is jumpy.. and high I would say. On one bank +7 on other +13, or +12 and +14. On mid loads the sum is +20 sometimes. When I cold start the car, sometimes I can clearly smell raw gasoline. Maybe I have a ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

I’m really grateful for the amount of detail and explanation you’ve provided. Honestly, I ended up making myself a small “cheat sheet” with different facts and theories from your posts, and little by little everything is starting to make much more sense now.
I still have one small question though ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

I'm sorry about my brains barely "braining" so far, but did I understand it correct that operational pressure has to be set slightly higher or about the same as it would be shown in the right top corner (gas pressure) when the car is stable driven in low- mid loads and minimum has to be set just a ...

Re: EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

Is this the reference pressure You were talking about? I never really paid attention to this setting, but I don't really understand the concept of Gas pressure that is shown in the right upper corner. So this is absolute manifold pressure? (Manifold + LPG) That is shown here? So how do I know how to ...

EW10J4 (RFN) engine power differences

I have two identical cars with same engines. One has Stag 4 eco + tommaseto achille, ac-w02 injectors, other one stag 4 plus (unknown reducer), valtek 3 ohm injectors. They have that combination, because today I exchanged the injectors with each car. (The stag4 plus version had ac-w02 and vice versa ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Okay, I think that I was missing something while doing calibrations. I always thought that STFTs has to keep similar at different load moments- lets say I'm driving at middle loads on petrol, STFTs are +10 for ex., I switch to LPG and I need to see the STFTs +10 as well. But at the same RPM in that ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Some updates. Had some spare time and what I noticed that the curves on calibration map has changed. Did a re-calibration today, but I just cant set the very low load area correctly. It feels imposible since the STFTs switching from petrol to LPG are almost always different in one way or another ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Decided to just take a used MAF sensor from junk yard for very cheap. These were the instant results- +11 ltfts on both banks after 5 miles driving. Felt difference in gear shifts instantly. Engine load is now less in same conditions. Power is now consistant, but not sometghing wow.. Maybe ECU needs ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Everything is very inconsistant in my situation. Sometimes the engine ran better on LPG than on petrol. And the fact that, let's say, one day i calibrate LPG multiplier map and the engine works really decent, the other day everything is off, switching from petrol to LPG starts giving different STFT ...

Re: 2GR-FE 07 Camry

Can knock sensors cause the first lambda (O2) sensors to detect a rich mixture? For example, the MAF sensor is working properly, but the knock sensors are generating incorrect signals from the engine, leading to incomplete combustion? Also, could this be related to poor transmission performance ...
