I guess not too tight as ...

Re: My Volvo V40 200+k!
Great example of budget motoring and ingenuity :D Of course, some people would like to see such 'old' cars scrapped and replaced with something that'll be in the scrapyard itself before long when it's not worth fixing all the electronics
I agree, it's a second car, my other one is a '97 VW ...

[quote="rossko"]Guessing you are talking about the plastic box that should enclose and seal all valvegear on an internal tank? Needs sorting, its a safety issue.

My Volvo V40 200+k!
Hi guys, my story is a positive one.
In December 2008 I was given a r-reg Volvov40 2.0i with 186k on the clock, some tax, no mot, a full tank of gas and 1/3 tank of petrol. It wouldn't run on gas and wouldn't do more than 60 on petrol. Booked in for an mot, just needed a side light bulb.
The kit ...

BRC Fox vaporizer
Is it possible to get a service kit for my BRC fox unit as it's not working quite as it should, and should I be getting oil in the pipe work from the vaporizer to the mixer. I've hunted hi and lo for a filter and unless it's hiding in the vaporizer it's not there. Any help would be much appreciated.

My guess would be that it's metal.
The two best systems seem to be BRC and Prins.
Also you need to think about tank size and mounting and also the option of a take off to run a cooker/fridge if it's a camper.
Good luck with the conversion and look forward to half price fuel and being able to outsmug ...

Is a cat necessary for LPG equiped cars?
Just a thought, if I run my volvo on lpg all the time can I ditch the cat, as it sometimes smells on short runs. I guess it would pass emmisions fine on lpg without a cat but what is the legal position?

Fuel economy
Volvo V40 2.0i (194k)with rather ancient BRC 'fox' system and 80 litre tank. Approx 300 miles to a tank mainly short journies. On petrol it does 20 mpg av. so definatley wouldn't run it if it wasn't converted. Most I've paid to fill up on gas is £28. Converted in 2001 and done between 20-30k a year ...

Re: BRC Switch
My BRC system has a switch with 5 leds on it which flash and change colour, can anyone help me to decipher what they're trying to tell me?
Only if you tell us more about it. On older systems, there's the level indicator lights, and the one 'mode' light. The mode light changes colour as you say ...
