Re: Morrisons price increase

Finally Morrisons have reduced their LPG price back down to 99.9p (along with most MFG forecourts). It just about makes it worth getting. However, when I'm in the Birmingham area I can get gas 30p a litre cheaper. I'm still not going to be doing my weekly £100+ grocery shop in Morrisons until LPG is ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

Yes, I agree. I refuse to pay more than £1 a litre and will happily run on petrol in between filling up at independents. Meanwhile by no longer using Morrisons for fuel or food they are missing out on thousands of pounds of business from me.

Re: Morrisons price increase

My response from MFG.

Dear Ben,

Regrettably our LPG supplier unilaterally decided to more than treble the supply premium for the supply of LPG on a take or leave it basis. Our pump price increase merely reflects the increase in LPG price than we have been faced with, our gross margin is the same ...

Re: Morrisons to stop selling LPG in December?

So the story about morrisons discontinuing lpg came from MFG's statement to the CMA where they said they planned to phase out lpg by 2024.
I, like the CMA obviously believed this. The reality now, however, is that in many areas they have no competition and can charge what they like....currently 129 ...

Re: Morrisons price increase

When the greedy private equity owners of MFG took over Morrisons it was never going to be good news for consumers. Sadly the useless Competition and market’s authority didn’t see a problem.
Today, Morrisons are now charging an outrageous £1.30 a litre. Needless to say I refuse to pay that much for ...

Morrisons price increase

Morrisons (now MFG) have just put LPG up to 99.9p, the same price as at MFG forecourts. The CMA didn't think there was going to be a competition issue..... I suppose I should be grateful they are at least still selling LPG.

Re: Another short term business strategy...

I don’t know why LPG can’t be pay at pump. Forecourts are coved by cctv and at the many Asda forecourts without kiosks there is surely someone in an office somewhere keeping an eye on them for health and safety purposes. A quick glance at a monitor would enable them to see a vehicle is there to be ...

Re: Morrisons to stop selling LPG in December?

I didn't think the MFG announcement in April 2022 applied to morrisons forecourts. With lots of carparking space for supermarket shoppers available to convert to electric car charging, its not likely they need the LPG tank space. Also, why would anyone want to leave their car by the forecourt ...

Morrisons to stop selling LPG in December?

Just been told by a Morrisons employee that LPG at my local Morrisons (Leamington) will be discontinued in December. Anyone else aware of this? The loss of the Morrisons network of LPG pumps will be a significant blow to national availability.

Motorway services LPG availability

It’s been a depressing few weeks regarding LPG availability at motorway services. Moto have stopped selling LPG at the few that still did and now Welcome break have increased their prices by 22p per litre to 99.9p. So much for the “climate emergency”, it seems everyone is desperate to phase out the ...
