Sorry both, I just saw your messages!
Currently, the engine is running on an AT90 which I think is rated about 100kW. The motorhome engine is rated at 208kW when running on petrol. So, it seems to be quite a big difference in what power should be supplied and what is. The engine makes a hell of a ...

The motorhome I have does somewhere between 2-3km/l... or 8mpg if I am on the flat.
I actually ran out of gas the other day, but luckily I had the backup tank so it was not too much of a disaster! Wish I could get mine to 13mpg..
I had not thought about setting the spare tank up as 'quick release ...

Thanks for your reply. Now I understand. So, I use the most convenient output, and still keep the Y-fork pipe to the fuel input.

Just to note, the engine I have is a V8 460, 7.5L (202kW) in an old American RV. It currently has the At90 which only provides (off the top of my head) 100kw ...

Just to update. The whole system seems to work well, even if it is somewhat of an overkill as I have never actually needed to rely on the 4th tank. But, it is nice to know it is there, especially as the gasket dried out and now the engine will not run on petrol ...

I am planning on replacing the reducer in the truck with a OMVL R90 Reducer. I note that it has two diaphragms and two outputs. One for high revs/power and one for low revs power.
Do I need to, or should I, install power valves in each of the outputs? Or is this not necessary with this ...

Sorry I have only just seen your reply.

In the end I bought two more cylinders and plumbed those in using one-way T-valves. Because the solenoids seem to draw to much power I have put the 4th cylinder on a separate circuit as a back up.

Hi,

Well I plumbed them all in, but disconnected the solenoids for the other two. I set it up with 2 T-valves so, unless I cocked it up, the gas would just go down the fuel line to the front.

I had a poke around the truck the other day and realised there is a very good chance that the mystery pipe fed a generator. Which I imagine means it was a liquid take-off. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for that, I really appreciate it. I guess the only real thing to do is to test it and find out.

I think I will activate the solenoid and loosen the knurl off to see if anything comes out. If it does, connect it into the system and see if the engine will run.

'Begs the question if your tank valve has a liquid pickup pipe, or was a factory modified vapour take-off valve, or was modified by the installer to pick up vapour instead of liquid. If it picks up liquid it could explain why it isn't connected to run your gas appliances... gas appliance regulators ...

I have taken a look.

The multivalve on the 'domestic' LPG tank is a Tomasetto AT02, which is the same as the valve on one of the autogas tanks. The solenoids are both the same. Is the model AT02 indicative of it being a liquid take-off, or is there more?

Thank you for that! I will go and take a look and see what I can see, before I do anything I may not even do it myself, but I do want to try and understand what is going on either way.

The tanks are defo a UK system, they were installed long after the vehicle was imported here.

Should have said the 'domestic' LPG tank and solenoid is the same as one of the auto LPG tanks. i.e., It is an autogas tank. Sorry.
