Re: engine problem, is it caused by the gas system?

done the indecent thing and have arranged a trade in, it is the first car I have ever traded in, normally run them until they die but have had enough with this one

Getting another VXR so have started stripped all the modded parts off it and will be fitting them to the new car. LPG system is coming ...

Re: engine problem, is it caused by the gas system?

yes all the bolt on bits were re-used, that thought was running through my mind this week one morning while driving to work. A new set of petrol injectors are nearly £300 so will see if I can get hold of some used ones

Re: engine problem, is it caused by the gas system?

did you get the vauxhall oil from vauxhall? i would have assumed they'd asked for your reg or what car you have to make sure you get the correct grade?

Yes I got it from the dealers where I used to work, it is the correct grade for the engine, it is semi synthetic 10w40. We have found that if you ...

Re: engine problem, is it caused by the gas system?

An interesting thought, I have 2 Vauxhall turbo cars running the same oil, one has 172k on it with no problems attributed to the oil but it is pretty much worn out and this one that has repeatedly broken down. I have been using genuine Vauxhall oil that is bought in 5 litre cans. It is a semi ...

engine problem, is it caused by the gas system?

My car is an Astra VXR running a Prins setup with approx 295bhp. It has the turbo kit fitted with brown injectors

At 60k I had new brown injectors fitted as firstly one then a second of the original ones used to stick open causing a misfire. At first Prins were not going to change the injectors ...

Re: new car time

well I hope that the gas usage goes down a fair bit then. 10% petrol usage is quite high but I suppose that also means less trips to the filling station. Just more fill ups of petrol. Read that the gas is more efficient this way, wonder if that is just because they omit to tell you about the petrol ...

danny, that is off topic mate. I will gas the red Zafira at some time but it is not a rush at the moment, that car has only covered 500 miles in nearly 3 years

Re: new car time

with the Zaffy GSi I got it converted then the problems started as it one of the first turbo cars to be converted (pre turbo kit available) The car went back to the converter and they spent a week doing things to it under the supervision of Prins

Could do the same this time.

Re: new car time

Danny, didn't know you are on here this is a secret, no blabbing to the lads lol

Woody, cheers for that. I knew about the AON car in passing as was not watching BTCC then.

Perhaps I could get the UK tech guys to do the work and get Prins to stump up a few quid for development work. We did that ...

new car time

Hi all,

Been running my Astra VXr for 90k, and 4 years. The car is uprated to just shy of 300bhp 28PSi overboost and runs 21PSi constant and runs a Prins kit. Apart from a faulty 4bar map sensor, vapouriser rebuild and a set of brown injectors. First 2 parts failed due to the stupid pressures I run ...

Re: Prins VSI vapouriser fault

Rossko, notice you are in Wiltshire. Not too far from me. Would you be able to fix the vap for me please? I can't see any foil label but vision around the unit is a bit impared until i take a few more covers off

Notts Astra. The car was converted 5 years and 145k ago. I had the vap rebuilt at 82k ...

It is the pipe on the side shown her on the right with the rubber hose attached

The nipple on the top used to have a hose on it. When the guy serviced the car last time he kept on swearing about that pipe as it was ...

Prins VSI vapouriser fault

Car has been a bit poorly for a couple of weeks. Looked at it today and the pipe that comes out of the centre of the vap is pumping out gas all the time the car is running on gas. This is making the car run really rich obviously. You can smell gas when the car is idling and the fuel trim is way off ...

Re: Business LPG car

think this has all been covered but here is my 2p

Use of a private car cannot be paid for only the trips you do for work. i.e. give in a fuel receipt and get the cash back. This is only for a vehicle owned by the business.

I like most people these days (who need to use their car for business ...

Re: Stickers (not warning or safety ones)

I thought about this for a while. Added stickers to the rear of my motors and now often get people talking with me at fuel stops about the gas.

I also race both cars at Santa pod and that really gets a good reaction especially in the Astra as it makes 12bhp more on gas than on petrol

I live in a ...

Re: PRINS installation - won't attempt to switch to LPG

the experts can correct me but I would be quite confident in saying that if you do not have enough fuel in the tank then the system will never switch over. When the solenoids switch over and the low pressure is detected the system will auto switch straight back to petrol.

I dont think this is the ...

Re: PRINS installation - won't attempt to switch to LPG

Also, forgot to ask, i haven't hooked up the filler pipe yet but i don't think this has any effect does it (other then not being able to add any new gas to the tank yet of course :) ) It will if the tank is empty. It never will change over then......

I think the fella means he has some gas in the ...

not sure which version of software you need, I bought V2.4.5 and this works on my 5 year old VSI system and my newer VSI system with the turbo mapping hardware. Bet you they will both work
