range rover L322
range rover L322
Hi guys,
long time. Hope everyone is ok.
Ok, car in question- range rover 4.4petrol, 2002 model, so bmw v8.
front kit probably brc 56, been there done that, so no big questions really.
Main question about the tank. How and where and what? if instead of spare wheel, do you still carry the spare wheel inside? or just cilinder?
Please advise and if possible picture..
Oh, and one more question, is it possible to use MagicJet dual outlet vaporizer(good for up to 350 BHP) with BRC system?

95 litre full torroidal tank in the spare well. But you need to chop out the two bits of metal that hold the air suspension pump clamshell if you want it to fit nice and flush. They are spot welded to the boot floor, just drill them out.
Re: range rover L322
So spare would then rest in the boot? Or no spare?Tubbs wrote:95 litre full torroidal tank in the spare well. But you need to chop out the two bits of metal that hold the air suspension pump clamshell if you want it to fit nice and flush. They are spot welded to the boot floor, just drill them out.

Re: range rover L322
no room in the well but the air pump can still fit in there depending how/what tank you fit ....going back to the magic reg I have put one on an X5 4.4 with no probs pressure stayed about 1.4bar at from 40mph through to 120.....temp dropped a little from 80 c...down to about 45c.....took two take off's no need for balance pipe.....that was the first time i tried one as a replacement for an underpowered e-gas reg (on the 4.4you need two e-gas regs).........good luck......So spare would then rest in the boot? Or no spare?

Re: range rover L322
Well I just checked the tinleytech web and they sell it for £150 I mean 720/270, so that's quite good, I can probably re-locate the air compressor, just thought what is easier, to have a spare wheel and have a tank in the boot, or no spare wheel...for such a big car...

Re: range rover L322
is that price for a 25 deg .........your air pump can stay under the spare wheel cover........it's easier to take your spare wheel out if you need the boot space!!!!!......720/270 is approx 94 ltr........Yuri wrote:Well I just checked the tinleytech web and they sell it for £150 I mean 720/270, so that's quite good, I can probably re-locate the air compressor, just thought what is easier, to have a spare wheel and have a tank in the boot, or no spare wheel...for such a big car...

Looks a neat job Andy. I find the work in progress photos much more interesting than the finished shots most installers have on their websites.

Re: range rover L322
You might have to cobble the BRC temperature sensor onto a foreign vap.
Doesn't really show how it was done, pump tin can discarded but original rubber mountings and lining used. Going in the corner leaves enough room for jack in anti-rattle padding, but may not be the best way to keep the noise down, usually put it in the middle these days (the later pumps are different shape)

Re: range rover L322
Personally i always move the pump to the cubby hole on the right, ive found them a little quieter in there once wrapped up with some accoustic foam with a piece of insulation board over the top.
Re: range rover L322
so basically tank in the spare wheel and thats all about it.
Re: range rover L322
If you were prepared to cut the board and do a bit of fabrication you could probarbly get a cylindrical tank in. But you would still need to move the air compressor pump because you wouldn't be able to get the spare out with it in place. can't say I have ever put a cylinder tank in an L322 though.
Re: range rover L322
One more questio..
Is it enough to have a BRC MAX Genius vapouriser to push the 4.4 engine?

Re: range rover L322
Gents,
question. now on l322 4.4 bmw engine. Petrol injectors all of them have white/red wire and second wire on all is brown/color. Am I right what I need to cut brown/color wire ?
Its a BRC 56 system, and harness for petrol injectors orange/violet. As far as I remember orange goes to petrol injector and violet goes to ECu side, is this right?
Thanks

Re: range rover L322
Is it a brown with a different colour stripe or the same all the way through the injectors ?
I've done quite a few of these and do not remember them being any kind of problem. The wire at the back injector is quite tight even with the rubber boot stripped back. I'm sure its pretty easy to tell because the common positive is bundled up and then fed off to the injectors. it's just 2 positives from the ecu to each bank from the ecu.
