Does anyone recognise where these bits should go? Discovery 2 4.0. Know its slightly off topic for here, But suspect someone whos had the tank off to replace with smaller one may have the answer?

Image

Found them whilst removing the petrol tank rattling around in the bottom of it, not sure if they are even off the car and can't see anywhere obvious they might go either

Hopefully someone can help, Can't seem to find anything on either Google or the parts listing to give a clue where it might have come from (Assuming that its actually come off the car and not someone posting it down the fuel filler of course)

Thanks!

Dimensions might help.
Knowing material could be useful.

First 'length of string' guess - vent 'valve' parts (petrol cap internals)?

Am I right - do I win the prize?

Thats a thought - Will have a look inside the cap, and take another photo next to a Ruler this time!

Well no sign of anything missing from the fuel cap i can see. Just as well as I need to find what i've done with the two parts, hence why no photo with dimensions as yet.

It runs though, so can't be anything too critical, though would like to know either way.
