I don't know if any of you follow the futures markets, but you may have noticed that Crude Oil (CL) and wholsale gasoline (RBOB) have been in a general uptrend over the last month while Natural Gas (NG) has been drifting lower.

Now I know that natural gas isn't LPG but last time Natural Gas came down significantly, the price of LPG came down :D

So if this trend continues maybe we might see petrol prices increasing and LPG prices reducing

We will see

Graham

That makes sense ; they are competing products on the industrial scale. (Autogas is a piddling share)

Sadly, today the UK duty rates go up at the pumps ... 1p on petrol and 0.7p on LPG from memory. Two ways to look at that ; the duty on LPG has gone up by a higher percentage .. but the actual cash pence-per-litre gap between LPG and petrol is bigger than it was yesterday!

The Total garage on the A11/A47 roundabout in Norwich had gas priced at 53.9 in January and now costs 62.9! That's a far bigger increase compared to petrol.

That's nowt - I've seen a 390% rise over the last couple of years as my local Morissons has gone from an exceptionally low 16.9ppl when they were "buying market share" to 65.9ppl now.
