After a few months off the road I MOT'd the Discovery today, and the station on my way to work had a problem with the LPG pump. It's been out of action apparently for 3 weeks, and I was running low so I had no choice but to pay 91.2 pence a litre (now updated on fillLPG :) ) at the only other place within a 40 mile radius! Makes me realise how reliant I am on that one station...

Sounds like you need to investigate having your own tank installed. Assuming you aren't so far off the beaten track that a tanker could never get up there to fill it! I know there are regional variations but around here it's 68.9 or 69.9 at filling stations but 66p at my local Flogas depot.

I haven't filled up for a few months, but the rest of the stations I visit are normal prices, just this one is stupidly high! It's at a garage rather than a filling station, who I think mainly use it for their own vehicles so any paying customer is a bonus. I'm guessing at that price they don't sell much of it, so the price per litre they pay will be higher too...

But I have considered a tank at home; we already have an oil tank so access isn't an issue. For gas we have a couple of 47 kg Calor cylinders which last forever for just the cooker. It was just the initial cost of getting (and filling!) the tank which put me off.

based on where you appear to have updated the price the following may be worth checking out
JH Jones & Sons - Pantperthog mill, Machynlleth, SY20 9AS 01654 902058
Its some way from there but doesn't appear to be on filllpg so may be worth a call if its suitable (no idea on price now) or dropping in there if your around that way. obviously if you know it already exists or doesn't then say so (and add it to filllpg!).

I've seen it a 99.9/l in Wakefield back at the end of last year so not quite the highest. Wales seems to have more of a variation than elsewhere though I'd guess some of that is down to cheaper transportation costs as I think they have a lpg terminal somewhere in south wales anyway.

I will give them a look (assuming I remember!) next time I'm down that way. It's a couple of hours from home, but I do have a friend I visit from time to time in Devil's Bridge.

And in response to your original question no you haven't > See link below

Yes that is really £1.04 a litre. In Wakefield of all places. I don't imagine they manage to sell any.
