Motor has developed an annoying intermittent problem, runs fine but recently occasionally it wont run on LPG when you start it up when still warm, acts as if the tank is empty/low pressure, get up to 25-30 press the gas button and runs fine after that, doesn't cut out under load. Did it tonight and we have only done 35 miles since fill-up and I get 260 to a tankfull.

Any thoughts, it's a Prinz VSI system installed in 2008 and done about 100,000 miles since installed.

Cheers

Bill

Could name a few reasons but it's probably better I ask this first...

How did it go last time the weather was similar (getting colder this time of year) ? May need an adjustment in software, to make it take a bit longer to change-over from a cold start - cold starts not so cold in warmer weather and Prins can be set to switch on a timer from cold start...

If it used to behave as desired, and now doesn't, then it is unlikely to be any software setting. You'd want to have it plugged into a laptop and look for what is happening to the gas pressure and temp, there may be some internal seepage.

Hi Chaps

Had the old girl since this time last year and no issues with the LPG till now and just to be clear, this is not a cold start issue, it starts fine from cold and switches over to gas after a few miles, runs fine. What then happens (on occasions) is if I stop for a few minutes say to pop into a shop and then restart, the tanks lights light up when you turn the ignition on but as soon as you engage the starter motor the lights go out and beep beep, to start it I have to turn the gas off and start on petrol and then run it for a short while ( can be as little as a few hundred yards) and press the button it switches to gas fine and runs normally

Cheers

Bill

Sticky reducer solenoid would be favourite.
May be worth hooking a computer up to it and seeing if it's actually exhibiting low pressure before tearing into it though.
