i use photobucket but other are out there

I'm not concerned for myself about the pic quotas etc, I've had the situation and Photobucket procedure explained to me so am able to post pics, but anyone who wants to show a pic on the forum for the first time usually needs to have the procedure explained to them within their thread regardless of the sticky... If someone comes on the forum to ask a question, writes a few posts then think it's time to post a pic, it seems they don't intuitively read the sticky's when the pic upload tools don't work. It's a bit clunky!

Maybe one or more of the moderators could ask Damian to transfer necessary powers, John? The pics and/or membership status situations are brought up either by myself or someone else every few months, sometimes getting their head bitten off for bringing these topics up, what with Damien being so busy, yet a few months later the same situation exists and Damien has sometimes been on the forum in the meantime but not addressed the issues...

Thanks for the comments - I think my time running this site is coming to a close as has been said, I really don't have the time any longer. If someone wants to put up some hosting and let me have a reasonable offer I will zip up and transfer the site and domain.

Leaving? Wasn't expecting or hoping for such a drastic step Damian... But I'm sure I speak for everyone who uses the forum when I say thanks and well done for starting the forum in the first place. Sorry we never got to say hello properly. Out of interest, what prompted you to start the forum?

May take a while to find someone to take the forum off your hands... I appreciate you're busy but is there any chance of passing on some admin privileges to moderators in the meantime?

It may seem a bit drastic, but I hate to let people down which is what I seem to be doing on here.

I originally set this forum up as I had, had a conversion done on a V8 Discovery which was a nightmare for want of a better word. After a few months of struggling I had to have the short block replaced as the other one had corroded behind the cylinder sleeves. LPG conversion, and re-fitted in a worse state than when it first went in. Found that there were few and far between on-line resources on LPG at the time, hence the birth of this forum.

Now thankfully the Discovery has gone to a better place and I now enjoy driving again in my little Audi TT.

Any further updates? Just a reminder I still cannot send pm's and my posts don't appear immediately, and I'm a senior member who has never posted abuse etc

Tempted at times mate!

Damian, if you're reading this, any chance while you're on the forum of sorting my pm and posting issues, or even better - giving John-D the necessary powers mate?

Thanks for bringing this up again, John.

I am one small step closer - I seem to be able to post immediately on one thread category - but my posts still seem to need 'approving' on all the other thread categories. And I still cannot send or reply to PM's.

Damian emailed me quite a while ago, said he had fixed my forum issues. I advised him of the above in my email reply but haven't heard from him since.

Yes it is a sorry situation. Sometimes my posts appear around 24 hours after I have clicked 'send' / after the thread has moved on. On odd occasions my posts don't appear at all. Feels like I am both wasting my breath and nagging Damian or other moderators if I comment.

All due to the fact I didn't come on the forum much after I first joined, because I was too busy doing LPG work....

I hope somebody with power on the forum reads this and sorts it out once and for all, but I won't be holding my breath!

24 hours is a slight exaggeration is it not? I'm on here numerous times a day and my bookmark leads me directly to the post that require approval, I have searched and found none of your posts have been "disapproved", the only person who can sort ur privedges is Damien, so if he says he's done it then am not sure what else can be done.....

I'll email u later ;)

24 Hours might be an exaggeration, definitely would be if I said it took 24 hours regularly, most of the time my posts are showing within a few hours, can take longer if I post late at night. I thought it had been closer to 24 hours on a couple of occasions at certain times of the year.

Cheers for approving my posts and for getting as involved as you can to help sort my problem here John.

Simon

I dont have a clue why posts require approving as all the settings are correct. I will take another look when I get a chance. Cant say any more than that at the moment I'm afraid.
